Description: Marche, located in Eugene, Oregon, opened in August 1998. The restaurant, which seats 80 guests, has an exhibition kitchen featuring a beautiful wood-fired oven. There is also a stylish bar and a large outdoor dining area, covered with awnings and umbrellas and surrounded by a garden of herbs and edible flowers. Marche takes its name from the French word for market – a word that describes our location in the bustling 5th street Market and more importantly, our philosophy of cooking. The menu is based on the foods one would find at a farmer’s market: fresh, seasonal, and regional. Marche is committed to using only those ingredients that are at their best, so our menu evolves as we move through the seasons of the year. Marche also believes in using the highest quality and most healthful ingredients available and to that end use organic, free range, and chemical free products. The culinary technique is French-based: intensely flavored and simply but beautifully presented.

A bit of a minimalist look to this cafe, it serves slightly pricey but tasty food such as steak frites and sandwiches. Seems to be a good destination in Eugene.

My wife and I had a fab lunch at Marche yesterday. We went out of our way to go there, and it was well worth it. Her salmon was amazing, as was my French-style hamburger with Pomme Frites. Friendly and attentive waitress, and we even got to meet the owner Stephanie. It is rather expensive, but seemed reasonable given the quality of food and attention to detail. I mean, what do you expect from such a place, Olive Garden prices? My only suggestion would be that they serve better quality bread at the beginning of the meal... real baguettes that are fresh out of the oven, instead of small, cold pieces of only so-so bread. But we will be back, and soon--hopefully next time for dinner!

Went for breakfast and had tasty eggs benedict and good mimosas. A bit overpriced and not much atmosphere. Very few people dining while we were there yet service was rather slow. Limited menu for breakfast. Was OK, but would not return if back in the area.

Loved this restaurant and the entire complex it's situated in. Both my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinners, wine, and dessert. Our server was really great - just the right level of service and touch of personality. We had a perfect night here celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary. So glad we chose Eugene and Marche!

Service was harried and disjointed. They could not coordinate simple requests for appetizers, wine and entree. Quality of food was acceptable, but servers and others seemed confused. That made dining very uncomfortable. We will not return.
