“Great for Multi-night Stay”
Reviewed November 27, 2012

This hotel is a GREAT value!.We had a single king bed, so perhaps had more room than others. The room had a small kitchenette...microwave and fridge, counter top and sink..adequate for simple in-room meals. It also had a sofa, cocktail table and desk/table. Perfect for a longer stay...we were there four nights. Rooms were very clean as was the entire hotel. The hotels has a small exercise room and enclose pool as well.

The "continental" breakfast was beyond expectation. It included many options...scrambled egg "patties", sausage, country fried potatoes, waffles, sweet rolls, toast, bagels, biscuits and gravy, fruit, coffee, tea and juices. Staff was friendly and very helpful...brought an extra chair when we requested it. The single negative we experience was dim lighting..generally inadequate for reading. We booked through hotels.com...got the $99 room for $76.

Room Tip: This is a four-story hotel with elevator. If a view is desired, request and upper level room.

Hotel is getting a little worn, but the location is great especially if you are visiting the University. It is literally a short walk a block or two away. Room was generic but good size. Bed, free breakfast, and indoor pool were fine. Lobby is pretty nice and staff was super friendly. Carpet is showing some wear and stains, and a nearby train woke me up, but well worth the price we paid via hotwire.

Room Tip: Stayed on the back side which is probably quieter given the traffic and train on Franklin (the front...

We selected the Phoenix Inn for it's proximity to central Eugene, and access to the interstate highway. It was also well known to the business contacts we needed to meet in Eugene. Our double queen room was very comfortable in size. The room included a small fridge which we made good use of. The room was very clean, quiet and well stocked. The beds are quite comfortable. There are low fat selection alternatives in the breakfast buffet selection. The hotel is virtually on the doorstep of the University of Oregon campus. You can easily walk right into the campus by crossing only one mid-level volume traffic intersection. The staff is helpful and friendly. I would guess that a very high percentage of the guests that use the hotel have some connection to the "U of O". We had none of those connections, but if you do, the hotel is ideally positioned.

Room Tip: The hotel is in a relatively quiet location. Rooms on any level should be no problem. Based on our f...

Enjoyed our two night stay in Eugene at the Phoenix Inn. The room was comfortable and seemed clean. The staff was helpful. The breakfast was fine for our needs. Enjoyed the ducks on the mill race canal.

Room Tip: Very nice location, with the Pancake House across the street and Sacred Heart Hospital and the Campu...

Everything about the Phoenix Inn Suites worked for us: proximity to campus and the Duck Store, a good sized room with a divider mid-way to separate the bedroom area from the living room/kitchenette area (with the small flat-screen TV on a dresser mid-way through the room which swiveled so you could watch TV from either the bed or the couch), a nice indoor pool and hot tub, more than adequate breakfast each morning (included in the price), and a friendly and helpful staff. One caveat though, which was a disappointment to me: the sink and main mirror are across from the bed and not in the bathroom proper (which housed only the toilet and shower/tub). Some people may find this very efficient as one person can shower while the other shaves or puts on make-up or whatever, and then switch, but we prefer a little privacy for our pre-bed and morning 'ablutions'. Also, if one person gets up earlier, as happened with us, you need to turn on the glaring flourescent light to use the sink and mirror, which can't help but disturb the person who is still trying to sleep in. While this would not stop me from returning to this hotel, it is something to be aware of in deciding if this is the place for you. (All rooms are set up like this per the fornt desk.)

Room Tip: Others on this website had advised not to get a room facing Franklin Boulevard as there is both stre...

Being that is it is right by campus many if not all of the front desk staff are collage students. I'm not saying that this is necessarily a bad thing but they seemed uneducated in regards to working in the hospitality industry. Several issues arose during my 2 night stay in Eugene and the staff was either not very prompt or didn't know how to address the issues. Upon leaving I wrote a letter to the front office manager addressing everything that had happened. I was very surprised that she responded to me via email offering her sincerest apologies. I was impressed that she got back to me as quickly as she did and will be giving them a second chance in the future.

My sister, her daughter and granddaughter and I stayed here for only one night to do Race for the Cure. It was a beautiful room and we loved that ... nice size, beds were comfy. However, the room was really warm and even though it was October and only 45 degrees outside, we had to put the air conditioning on to be comfortable (and it was very noisy!) Additionally, we were at the very end of the hotel, where we could park our car and take a door up to our room from there, but the door was not working with our key. When I told the front desk, they said they'd look into it. It did not get fixed until the next day when we were checking out. It was an ordeal to get to our room as the elevator was so slow!!! The breakfast was nice, however, and included in the room. It is in a nice location close to the University of Oregon and lots of places to eat around it. I would recommend it and feel that if that darn door was fixed, I would have given a higher rating ... it was irritating and no one seemed to take it seriously!
