“cruel seats”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Unless you are sitting on the orchestra level or box seats on the side you are SCREWED.
I'm 5'6 and in the upper decks my knees are pressed solid against the seat in front. If anyone has to leave, consider yourself tea bagged or worse. Then there's the tilt. I have been on roller coasters that had less decline, you have vertigo the whole time. Steps are short and tricky.
Prices are ridiculous. Sound is okay, but don't hope to see anyone on stage without a telescope.
I've been there for graduation and they were dots. I have been there for a comedy show and you got the gist of the actors. When on orchestra level for a play it was fine. Prices change per performance. If you have the money and want to see the act, go Orchestra. If you have any legs try the box seats on the side, if you weigh less than 50 pounds and don't care, sit up in the slant seats. Ushers are really nice, adequate underground parking, but beware of those awful upper deck seats. DISABLED beware. Overweight beware.

Hi Cindy, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, we really do value your feedback! We want to take the time to clear up a few misconceptions and be sure you have the right info about productions here. The Hult Center does not set prices for shows that come through and rent our venue. Each show determines what price it needs to set for tickets in order to break-even and make a profit, which is why prices are different for every performance. Obviously the quality of sound and visibility by seat is a matter of opinion, so we don’t want to try and argue against what you’ve said, but more to comment that our Ticket Office is a great resource when it comes to purchasing a seat. Not all the seats are the same width, so if anyone should need a little more room, our Ticket Office staff can help determine the best seat. Likewise, seats in different locations have different amounts of legroom. We have patrons of all shapes and sizes that come here and have a comfortable experience, and we want that to be the case for you as well. The upper balconies are quite steep and many who have fear of heights choose not to sit up at the top. On the other hand, we have patrons who prefer to sit up as high as they can get. We did install extra handrails over the summer for extra safety and comfort. Thank you again for your review. – Hult Center Staff

“Hult Center - non classical performances”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

This is an impressive concert venue for all kinds of performances. Most of the seats have excellent sound reception and good viewing. Parking is nearby, as are restaurants at all price levels. There is one problem with the Hult when it comes to sold out or full audiences. There aren't enough restrooms for women. It results in a long line, and intermissions have to go longer than a half hour to accommodate. Also, some performances for the younger set are far too loud. We had to leave a Sheryl Crow performance (and expensive seats) because the noise level was actually painful, even with ear plugs. Our friends left as well. I wish the Hult had a decibel cut-off where enough is enough.

Hi Sally, Thank you SO much for your review, we really do appreciate that you’ve taken the time to give feedback! We hear you about the women’s restrooms. Did you know that over the summer we added additional stalls to the women’s restrooms on the Lobby level? Lines can still get long during intermission, but they have been moving significantly faster. Also, just for information sake for you, touring productions (like Sheryl Crow) often have their own sound systems and determine the sound levels for their own shows. If the sound is causing you problems, find an usher and let them know. If seats are available, they may be able to relocate you to new seats that are further from the speakers. Also, your feedback will make its way back to the production’s Sound Designer and they may (at their discretion) lower the sound. We are so sorry that you had a negative experience and hope future performances you attend are better experiences for you. Best, Hult Center Staff

“Chicago”
Reviewed October 22, 2013

Broadway on Stage at the Hult Center is a magical night. We Went to Izumi Sushi for dinner and then to The Theater. Both special treats to say bon voyage to very special friend. I saw Chicago on Broadway in New York years ago. This performance was just as good. It left everyone on their feet cheering and clapping. My only complaint is that while the facilities and performance are world class. Very few people dress up for the occasion. We do, but we are the minority.
