While it's kind of "echo-y" and loud when it's busy, the atmosphere is cozy and nice. Service is good and the flavors are terrific. That wood-fired oven imparts a taste that can't be reproduced by other means. Yum!

I don't get the less than stellar reviews on this place; we LOVE la Perla. The food is fresh, hot and fast. The staff are attentive and helpful, even when busy. The BEST pizza I've had is on the appetizer menu, Focaccia alla Beppe & Gianni. The description is:
Wood-oven focaccia inspired by Beppe & Gianni’s most popular appetizer - flatbread topped with fresh roasted garlic and cambozola cheese. $10.95. I ask them to add prosciutto and OMG - it is heaven. True Neapolitan Pizza - period.

If you truly appreciate a great pizza, you deserve a trip to La Perla. Their wood fired certified oven produces the exacting heat to cook their thin crust pizzas in under 2 minutes. The fresh ingredients compliment the crust and sauce in such harmony that you wonder if this simply isn't the art of pizza making at its finest. We especially enjoyed the 4 cheese pizza (sans sauce), the primavera pizza, and the pizza that features 4 sections of mushrooms, artichoke hearts, meat and basil.

Service, even when they are crowded, is usually excellent. Don't shy away if it is crowded as pizzas go into and come out of that over very quickly. Since everything is made out in the open, you can watch the entire process.

If you are seeking quantity of pizza, go to Costco, where you get a lot of product for your dollar. If you are seeing great pizza and lots of variety of choice of ingredients, seek out La Perla. They know what great pizza truly is.

I have eaten here six times in the past thirty days. I have always eaten their pizza and soup or caesar salad with a soft beverage. I have sat at the bar as well as at tables.

Every visit was excellent and left me wanting more. The service has been quick, friendly, and knowedgeable.l When I wanted a pizza with a different sauce than what was offered they made the change with no problem. At lunch they haved at least two special pizzas smaller but just the right size. I have tried four different soups. I love soup and have high standards. Their soup is the best in the city. Their saslads are sweet and crunch without to much dressing. Aks for some lemon wedges and you get them promptly.

Overall this has become one of my favorite eateries in the past month. But be warned. This is not deep dish pizza and this is not pizza where they smother it with greesy meats and cheese. This is european pizza with a very thin and crisp crust, and just the right amount of toppings.

I give this two thumbs up. It is my favorite pizza place in the metro area.

Oh did I mention the kitchen is in the middle of the place and you can watch all parts of your meal be prepared right in front of your eyes.
