The rooms are very clean sufficient for what I needed and the staff was great. The bathroom is kind of small but again it was just fine for what I needed. I was here for a conference and at $99 per night special rate for the conference the value was perfect. If you are a person who likes to sleep-in, forget staying in downtown Eugene. The train comes right through downtown and blasts it's whistle numerous times. This is not something unique to the Hilton. It's just the way it is in Eugene. I was just here one night but come 5:30 AM be prepared for the wake up whistle. You might ask the staff if there is a quieter side to the hotel.

Dear Trip Advisor Member,

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent stay with us. I will let the Staff know that you thought they were great. Some people enjoy the old fashion feel of the train rolling through town, while others think the horns are annoying. This is why we provide ear plugs in the rooms and also do have sound machines available upon request. Thank you again for your comments and we look forward to your next visit to the Eugene area.

Sincerely,

John Thomas

When we checked in we were greeted by super-friendly and helpful front desk staff were super friendly. The bathroom was a bit small but the room was immaculate. We received a couple generous comps which made me feel well-treated. The location is great and a running trail is just a few blocks away. I will be staying here again.

Thanks to Tripadvisor reviews, I knew to ask for a renovated room away from the railrood. But I was told ALL the rooms had been renovated two years ago. Well, they must take a beating because everything looks kind of tired and worn. It feels more like a Hampton Inn (in the same organization but theoretically lower end than the Hilton brand) than a Hilton. People are pleasant but it seems understaffed and uninspired.

If you're looking to walk to restaurants, which seem mostly very modest like the hotel, it's a decent location.

Room Tip: As I was advised, stay on the side away from the railroad that runs nearby.

We had an extended stay at the hotel. Our son had arranged the room through Priceline.com - not sure if that made a difference in the services made available to us.

Positives: Clean room, comfortable bed, bathroom fixtures worked flawlessly, free coffee in the lobby, great location in Eugene.

Negatives: No wifi in the room (we had to go to the lobby)

Dear Trip Advisor Member,

Thank you for taking the time to comment on your recent stay. Overall sounds like your stay went well. We do have wifi internet in the rooms as well as the lobby, it is $9.95 per day, you just need to pick the Hilton Honors internet and it will take you through a sign up process and bill the room, if you are an AT&T customer it is free. We hope that you will stay with us again the next time you are in Eugene.

I'll start by saying the bell staff was really friendly and helpful, the front desk staff seems to think the desk makes them invisible. Though they are friendly, it seems as though the help ends after you check in.
The lobby was clean but crowded and loud. It was nice that they offered free coffee in the morning and accented water all day, but that coffee was so bad that it made the guest room coffee tolerable.
The fitness room was really nice and clean, usually empty but the pool area was sad, lacking and i don't believe the pool water was treated at all during my stay. Water shouldn't be viscous.
The elevators were marginally clean, just the basics. I would like to suggest to the management that they walk the hotel and take a look at the details, like the dog food that had been spilled in the elevator. It was cleaned up, but there was still pieces of it in the tracks of the elevator, or the chicklets gum that was under a table for more than a week; yeah, some people notice things like that.
The corridors leading to the rooms could use better lighting and some ends of the hallways were especially dark. Once in the room, the consistency was really where the problem was. Some days the room was fully replenished and restocked with the glassware, sugar, and cups - other days it was not. We hung our towels to save water and resources for the hotel and the planet, yet they were taken down and replaced every day. There was no set time to know when the room was going to be serviced even though we would leave at the same time every day. There were stains on the bedskirt that looked like either vomit or spilled food. Oh and the fridge!! That fridge would NEVER pass AAA inspection. It was stained, scratched, missing the bar to hold things in place and dinged yellow, the only thing missing was mold. I can see why they do not keep them permanently in the rooms.
The doors slammed constantly and the noise from the bar below carried all the way up to the top floors. In the morning there would be beer cans and trash on the rooftop that was thrown out the windows from the guest rooms. I know it's not the fault of the hotel that guests would behave in such a manner, but when your hotel rooftop looks like an abandoned field of dry grass and weeds - I can see why some people think trashing it wouldn't make a difference. The rooftop is indeed an eyesore.

Room Tip: Ask for non-adjoining rooms to get some silence, but there are bars on either side of the hotel so t...

The hotel is located in downtown Eugene just 2 blocks from the AMTRAK Station. The hotel is in the middle of the bar district near the University of Oregon. There are many choices for dining or just sitting outside enjoying your favorite beverage. If you arrive by train the Eugene bus sytem is easy to use and center on a transit station just a few blocks away. The hotel is older but is in excellent condition. Employees are very freindly and service is up tp Hilton's usual high standard. If you want a scenic ride take the AMTRAK Cascades from Seattle or Portland, the Hilton is a 2 minuate walk from the station.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the 6th AVE side, you will here trains all night.
