“A Very Eugene Experience”
Reviewed August 26, 2012

If you could put the experience of Eugene into a restaurant, this would be it. Lots of local character and many locally supporting events. The pizza is ok too.

“Good food but service?”
Reviewed July 9, 2012

We ate at Cozmic Pizza and had good food, but the service was very slow and it seemed they were way under staffed.

“Sad decline of a (formerly) good venue”
Reviewed June 18, 2012

We used to like Cozmic - unpretentious, good food and a mellow atmosphere with reasonable entertainment that started at a reasonable time (by 8pm). After the place sold last year, the decline has been precipitous. New owner has tried to turn it into a major entertainment venue with ticket prices to match, has redesigned the cavernous space with strange, unattractive bench seating and revamped the food service pod where customers order food and are given little plastic alarms that alert them when their order is ready. It's a disaster on every level. Food quality has notably declined and the length of the wait is at times interminable. The wait in line to order is itself chaotic and tedious - no clear lines are established, so folks break into line, sometimes unwittingly, sometimes not. Imagine standing behind a group who clearly has not reviewed the menu as they waited and now wants to question the counter help about the origins of the wine and its bouquet (and do a mini-tasting), debates the choices of pizza toppings and also wants to chat about last week's band.
A major passageway (that leads to the bathroom) cuts through the seating area so those seated in the outer circle have to watch a procession of foot traffic meandering to and fro in front of the act on the stage.
Worse yet is "Family Night" when the place fills with small children who are permitted to run madly about the room, crawl under tables (yours of course, not their parents'), play tag across the stage, and careen around tables loaded with glasses of beer. Management is wholly as unconcerned as the parents. Perhaps I'd see this as a nice evening out without the cost of a babysitter, but the grownups in the room are subjected to chaos from all sides while waiting for accidents to happen.
In spite of these nearly insurmountable flaws, I've enjoyed a couple of good shows here and also appreciate the monthly belly dancing program, however, I'll eat at home and go to the Jazz Station for my grownup nights out.

“The pizza was so salty that it was inedible”
Reviewed April 6, 2012

I went to Cozmic Pizza for the first time and had their lunch special of a slice, salad and soda. The soda was good and homemade - refreshing and light, and the salad was your ordinary micro-green salad. I had the balsamic dressing which tasted homemade, and I enjoyed the salad very much. However, the slice of pepperoni pizza was so overly salted that it was absolutely inedible. The taste of the sauce and the dough couldn't be detected over the overwhelming salt flavor, so much so that I have no idea whether or not they were tasty. I love, love pizza, and I use quite a bit of salt - so the fact that I couldn't finish my slice says a lot about the poor quality of what I was served.
