“Used to be good but now freezer to fryer”
Reviewed January 14, 2012

Awesome food when they first opened up. Now from the freezer bag into the fryer. I love good southern cooking and this used to be. The place is packed still for supper but then so is Burger King ..haha.

“Great food in Eugene”
Reviewed November 28, 2011

I had the fried chicken and my wife had the beef brisket. Everything was absolutely NUMMY! The staff was great despite it being jammed after a ducks football game. We will return on our next visit to Eugene.

“Just So Good!”
Reviewed November 2, 2011

Just a super place for a great meal and to spend time with family and friends. The only thing bad about Papa's is the wait. They don't accept reservations, so you need to time your arrival for when you think there might be a lull in the feasting. Our wait was tagging at 30 minutes when we signed in on the list. It turned out to be a bit longer, but so worth it! After being seated, the service to our table was prompt, friendly and with it. Our table ordered a wide sample of the menu's offerings. Ribs, catfish, fried chicken, fried okra, cole slaw, mac and cheese, hush puppies- all delicious. We forgot to order the cornbread- have to go back! The Lynchberg lemonade, mojitios, and sweet tea round out the meal well. Too bad we didn't have room for their signature bread pudding.....next trip.

“Southern Comfort Food at its BEST!!”
Reviewed October 6, 2011

This restaurant is my new best place to eat!! Great Food, Great group!! it is closed on Sunday & Mondays..... Best to get there early, unless you like sitting on the grass outside for a table. They fill up fast, but the food is well worth the wait. I would try to get there before 5pm, if you don't want to wait.
The food is everything you think of when you think of the south. Southern Fried Chicken, Hush Puppies, Gumbo, Fried Catfish, Fried Orca, black beans & rice.

“Excellent Soul Food!”
Reviewed September 12, 2011

The fried chicken, pulled pork sandwiches and hush puppies were all awesome and the meal was super affordable. The lemonade was too large for me to finish and the service was tops. Even though they were really busy we got seated within a few minutes, and our food was timely. Love it for the entire family.
