My husband and I went to Bagsby Hot Springs last summer. We found it fun and delightful. Yes there were people there that we really didn't want to be around but we managed to be alone in our tub after a brief explanation that we didn't want to entertain strangers. Where there are people this sort of thing will happen.
During the summer when Mt. Hood Recreation division of Northwest Land Management takes care of this park and several others have their employees up there, it is peaceful and quite pristeen. They clean and furnish the bathroom in the parking area two to three times daily, clean the trails and scrub the hot tubs daily. They furnish a brush for you if you are afraid of germs or whatever and you can scrub your tub yourself before you crawl in. the area is patrolled and manned all summer long to keep any trouble from arising and the camp hosts were bleasant and helpful. They kept the area clean and we felt safe.
There is so much more to Bagsby than just the hot tubs. There are hiking trails all around and several small campgrounds very close. You don't have to just go for the tubs. The old buildings that show the old settlement arre still there and we found ourselves dreaming about what it must have been like to stumble across this place and settle on it.
