Perfect Get A Way!

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed May 14, 2013
Loved the snow mountains, fresh air, warm and cozy. Yummy breakfasts, we will be back. Spent the day out at Buck Horn look out at a place called the Indain Grove, stepping back in time, you could all most see the little children playing in the forst, and the ladies gathering berries in their baskets. A must do. Thank you for the tip. We will return.

My husband and I were coming off the Grand Ronde River after a week of flyfishing and decided to stay in Enterprise before heading to friends in Palmer Junction. The Enterprise House is an absolutely delightful place filled with antiques, hardwood floors and gracious hosts. Our room was upstairs with views from 2 large windows and was just perfect for us. Everything everywhere was sparkling clean. One thing you will not want to miss is the incredible breakfast served and not by buffet but individual servings set for you in the dining area. There was greek yogurt with fresh fruit including huckleberries picked by Jack, fresh orange juice and incredible baked french toast. Two slices of bread with cream cheese and fruit placed in a batter then rolled in grains and baked. Just unbelievable!! Something you do not want to miss. We will definitely be back.

Now, if you want a B & B to stay in, that is full of antiques and beauty then this is the place to stay! We stayed for 1 night on August 11 on our motorcycle trip around Oregon and Washington. Had just come from a long hot ride and Jack and Judy made us feel right at home! Got settled in and then enjoyed a drink outside in the backyard. Enjoyed looking at the fruit trees, garden and other lovely scenery. Had a fantastic sleep in a very comfortable bed and I mean very comfortable bed! We had to get up early the next morning and they even made us breakfast earlier (0730) The breakfast was to die for and so large and filling! Jack and Judy were the perfect hosts! They had some guests come in late and were very concerned if they woke us up during the night. The house is very clean and comfortable with little items you can purchase, jam etc. and a large living room with many books to browse etc. Thank you Jack and Judy for a wonderful stay! We may see you for the bike rally next year!!

Room tip: We stayed in the room on the main floor which was very nice but woke up to the noise of breakfast being prepared. Reaaly no big deal...but..

This trip decided to follow fellow tripadvisors' recommendations and was not disappointed, thank you. The Historic Enterprise House was like visiting friends. Jack and Judy are warm and friendly and treat their guests so well. The house is wonderful the rooms spotless and Jack cooks a mean breakfast. loved our stay and was sorry to leave.

Jack and Judy were perfect hosts They made us feel very much at home for our 4 night stay. It felt like we were visiting friends. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfasts delicious, they provided many helpful suggestions for exploring the area, the views of the Wallowa Mts. are spectacular and we enjoyed the social atmosphere they created with the other guests, as well.

We don't often choose to stay in B and B's but The Historic House Enterprise sounded so nice we thought we would check it out. We were not disappointed. Checking in early was not a problem and we were delighted that we had booked the William Warnock suite. The suite boasted a lovely bedroom, a great sitting area with views over the snow clad mountains and a large bathroom with bath and 2 showers. The bed was deliciously comfortable with high quality linens and great pillows. The robes were appreciated while relaxing looking over the mountains after a busy day exploring. We were invited to use a communal fridge for any perishables that we were carrying which I found very convenient as we were travelling for 6 weeks and were self catering in part.
Joseph is only a few miles away and a trip on the Tramway [gondola] over Lake Wallowa was well worth the cost - even if one has a fear of heights.
The Hells Canyon lookout was about 30 miles away down narrow, winding roads but with such amazing views and countryside well worth the effort - even if you can't see the water!
The Terminal Brewing company was only a few yards away from the B and B and provided a more than adequate although no frills - evening meal.
We only spent 2 nights at the B and B but when we left we felt we were leaving the home of friends. If we were ever to return we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Room tip: We liked having the suite for the extra room and the amazing views of the mountains. One could certainly enjoy the lounge downstairs with the other residents but for peace and quiet and chilling out time - the suite was perfect.
