Greatest staff I have seen in a long time! Very friendly and kids loved the giant fireplace... we stayed in the A building motel (about 99 a nite mem day weekend)... very run down and old. TV worked even though it was at least 20 years old and the carpet was shaggy and from the 70's... We didn't care too much though because we were tired and cold... but the place was still covered in snow in late May and the kids loved to see it again...
Again everybody was busy fishing for trout despite the cold and the air smelled of firewood. Loved it all in all, just expensive for the quality, but then again there are really no other hotels around to compete with. We drove to Crater Lake the next morning. It is normally a 15 minute drive from this resort, but since it's still considered winter in late May, we took the southern route which was about 60 minutes long... beautiful area and drive!
Would return in July or August for sure, water at diamond lake is only about 30' deep, so swimming would be warm that time of year!
thx again to the front desk and great staff!

Room Tip: expect snow even into late May...

The rooms are average but the price is right. The walls are thin...but location is great. We could ski across the lake and did so at night after pizza, a 6 mile round trip. Nice views of the mountains and close to Crater Lake. There is a cafe/lounge but we did not eat there. Dog friendly also.

We stumbled upon an amazing restaurant located at Diamond Lake Resort.
If you are traveling Highway 138, stop in at the lodge for a great meal
The Bailey Room is a new and separate restaurant from the cafe we all know and love. It is open for dinner.
Perfect decor for a lakeside lodge
Large windows overlooking the lake
Big fireplace
But the real selling point: the best prime rib ever!

Stayed in a cabin just last weekend . Older cabins ,outdated but working. had woodstove but not enough blankets (bring some extra). Kitchen had plates pans and silver but bring dish soap , pam and scrubber pad. Ate dinners at inn . The food was excellent the wait staff was ok prices were fair , I never saw the chef but would like to thank him/her for the excellent dishes. I saw a few commenters saw the place and cabins were dirty , well I didn't see it. Rented snowmobiles at resort and went trail riding to crater lake . Great ride had lots of fun. Woman who did the paperwork for the rentals seemed like we were bothering her but the snowmobiles were in excellent shape and were a good deal. Overall good value , would like to see it in summer and do some fishing.

Fisherman style room, barely bearable. Scenic mountain view behind the main lodge. It had a big roaring fireplace and the feel of a winter retreat like in old movies. Pictures of the original handsome couple, owners in the 20s. Restaurant offered expensive survivor style rations served up by a sweet chatty waitress. Most bizarre off flavored gravy ever. Remember, you are in a remote location with gorgeous scenery. It was an experience.

Room Tip: We liked the upstairs end room.

i believe diamond lake resort is a good place to stay it is a fishing resort not the hilton i think theres nothing wrong with the rooms yeah sure they should replace things as they need to be replaced youve got to remember the economy is poor so money is a factor maybe they should lower there prices a little but any way the food is great marina also and of course the fishing too. i still recommend diamond lake resort as a good place to stay.

Room Tip: any of the cabins next to the lake is the one you should rent.
