“Very Good”
Reviewed August 14, 2014

I had lunch at TR two days in a row, and the service was slow both days. The food was really good in some cases but not exceptional - example the clam chowder was thin, and the decadent chocolate brownie desert was supposed to be heated but arrived cold and hard. I just figured that was how they wanted it. The view probably makes up for any weak spots in going there. I wonder if they're cruising on their reputation a bit?

“Best Seafood on the Oregon Coast and an Amazing View”
Reviewed August 14, 2014

This is by far the best restaurant on the Oregon Coast. Not only is the food delicious, the service is wonderful and the view is awesome. We make sure we eat here every time we vacation on the Oregon Coast. I highly recommend you try the Spinach Oyster Bisque soup. It is delicious. This time we also had the steamed clams in Black Butte Porter and loved them. The razor clam main course is beyond delightful and quite a large serving. This visit was made especially fun with two whales putting on a show in the bay just outside our window. There wine selection is wonderful and I always try something new. This place gets very busy so reservations are a must and be sure to request and be willing to wait for a window side table. I can't wait to go again.

The food is good, the view is great and the service is attentive. The dish served was lukewarm, unfortunate!

“We go here each trip because of the food and the view”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

It's a pretty informal place (we saw a guy in a sportcoat and damned near fell out of our chairs) frequented by those who feel comfortable going out to dinner in very casual attire. By that I mean shorts and flipflops or jeans. This very successful restaurant expanded and still has a waiting list. The food is very good. The halibut we had this last time may have been the best halibut we've had. (And we have it pretty regularly) At least it seemed that way that night. The wine list is full of names I'm not very familiar with. But we found a very good value of Orin Swift's (He of "The Prisoner" fame) CA location wine which must be a newcomer to the wine list as it's not on the website list. Yes, we drank a red with the halibut!

The view is quite great. You see the sea crashing inward. And, if you're lucky, you'll see a whale. One of us saw one and one of us (that would be I-I never see them) didn't. Large windows that look out seaward. A lovely setting and very good food.

There seems to be a regular turnover of the help. We don't go there more than once a year but even then have a hard time recognizing any of the staff. Our waitress was a hard working lady who did her very best to please us. I don't like pouring the wine and asked her to do it. She did so willingly though I got the impression she was not used to doing it.

We always return each trip and you should treat yourself and go too. It's really worth stopping in. But be sure to make a reservation.

“Worth reserving!”
Reviewed August 11, 2014

Had a great dinner -asked for an window view when we reserved (reserve a day or 2 in advance if you can - you will be seated much faster, though they do have a walk in list, and got a very nice table. Had a wonderful evening! Flawless service, great food, great view. Nice wine list as well - lots of local wines, and a selection of international ones. We heard about the restaurant from some people we met wine tasting in the near by Willamette Valley, & glad we tried it. Highly recommended!
Came back for lunch 2 days later - saw a whale going by the window! Was a nice bonus!
