“A must thing if you are there to see Whales”
Reviewed July 2, 2013

A five dollar admission which they give you a credit to use on one of there whale Watching Boats anytime . It was very informative and has many displays of Ocean Marine Life of all kinds . Did you know that in the late Fall 23,000 Gray Whales pass right by Shore on their way to Baja .

“Museum review only”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

The museum was not very exciting. However, my three year old enjoyed herself for about 20 minutes....average length of time for that age. The staff was fabulous and very knowledgeable. We should have went on a whale watching tour. The pictures of the whales were amazing and I spoke with a family who had just returned from a whale watch and loved the experience. They are booked a week or more so must call ahead for a reservation. The gift shop was small but had a good selection.

“Great whale watching boat tour”
Reviewed June 25, 2013 via mobile

Carrie Newell is a marine biologist. She runs the museum & whale watching eco excursions. We took an hour & a half boat ride on a Navy Seal Zodiac she purchased used. It seats 6 guests & is fairly smooth & you really don't get wet. Carrie is wonderful. We got to see 2 gray whales. She explained all about the whales. We got close enough that we could identify the 2 whales by name by the end of the trip. We saw them numerous times. You get an orientation before or after the trip to learn about the whales. You get to tour the small museum as well as part of the trip. Carrie was wonderful. The excursion was the highlight of our trip to Oregon. Carrie hugs all her guests at the end of the trip. We also got to see harbor seals & sea lions. I got some great photos of the whales & the seal & sea lions. Thanks Carrie.

“Only a Starting Point for Whale Watching”
Reviewed June 13, 2013 via mobile

I felt like the 15 minutes we spent in the museum before our whale watching excursion were worthwhile - it was free with our trip. If I had paid for it and went out of my way I would not be as generous with my praise. The museum holds a lot of dead/dried animals on display along with models and some shark jaws. There is not a lot of informative material nor a whole lot of hands in interaction for the kids. It really is about a 15 minute attraction at most.

“Waste of time and money”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

If you're spending money you wold be better off going anywhere else. We were told as soon as we got out of the car if your not coming in don't park here. Then inside everything was about money money money. We left feeling like we had been fleeced.
