Channel House Inn is a good choice if you want to sit on the deck watching the surf crashing on the rocks below. the Jacuzzi tub is also nice but you can read all the pluses on their website. Here are the tidbits that you may want to know about the place before you decide:
Suite #8, The Channel Watch, is on the 2nd floor so you'll hear the occupants of the room upstairs walk back and forth as the floor squeaks. There is a full kitchen but yet no microwave oven. No AC in the room so it does get hot and stuffy unless the sliding glass doors are open (guess I'm expecting AC to be a standard for comfort) for a suite, the bathroom is small with hardly any counter space (kudos for the excellent shampoo & conditioner; tangle free). The Tempurpedic mattress can be hard to adapt to if you are not used to it. We brought our own coffee (since most hotel coffees are not to our liking ; Channel House included). We had our morning coffee on the deck as we watched the fishing boats leaving the harbor. The complimentary cookies and water is a nice touch after a long road trip.
Depoe Bay has firework displays on July 3, which you can see from your balcony and avoid the 4th of July crowds.More
