“Best prime rib in the world, and not a frowning face in sight!”
Reviewed January 9, 2011

We found this little gem a year ago by accident because the restaraunt we were originally going to no longer served prime rib on Fridays. We headed out to find some, and one block down the road we saw their sign for Prime Rib tonight. Jack's is small and casual and the first thing we noticed was that everyone who work' there smiles. All the time. We ordered 2 prime rib dinners and we were sold. The meat is excellent, very flavorful and melts in your mouth. Whenever we go to the coast, we time our stay for a Friday or Saturday night just for Jack's prime rib. In 7 or 8 visits over the year we have sampled a fish and chips, calimari, hamburger steak, and a few drinks. Everything we have tasted was excellent, and have yet to meet a grouch. We even got to chat with the owner and got some interesting history. Only regret is being to full to try dessert! We will keep going back as long as we can. Great place!

“If you're driving to eat at Jack's, turn around now and go to Donny's (for those who don't know that means McDonalds)”
Reviewed January 2, 2011

If you like waiting 2 hours for only a bowl of chowder that never came, go to this place. If you like excuses and wish you'd just gone up the road to the store and bought your own ingrediants so that you could make your own food, this is the spot for you. Depoe Bay will not be seeing us again

“Best. Salmon. Ever.”
Reviewed August 30, 2010

My husband has traveled quite a bit - spent time in Alaska and in the Pacific Northwest and loves salmon. He said the salmon at Jack's was the best he ever had. That, right there, speaks volumes.

I had King Crab legs which were enormous and perfectly cooked - tender, juicy, not rubbery or fishy at all. We had a clam steamer appetizer with beer, cream, butter and... an angel's kiss. Accompanying everything were thick buttery garlic toast slices - and they taste amazing dipped in beer, butter, cream sauce.

We had great service and while Jack's may not tote a famous view, the food and service makes it our favorite stop in Depoe Bay.

“Adequate food-excellent wait staff-about average for the vicinity.”
Reviewed July 14, 2010

The food was nothing special-oyster dinner was good but petites should be reserved for shooters and mediums should go on the plate. I'd have preferred fewer oysters if they were larger. The ribs were nothing to brag about-no nasty aftertaste is about the best rating I could give. Lackluster presentation on the plate, so the visuals left me flat. Nice salad bar-lots of selections and very fresh. Our waitress was top-notch however-very attentive without hovering and obviously taking very good care of her customers. I might recommend this restaurant to a friend but I would warn them not to expect 5 star food. The bar is nice but needs more character, however since they have not been open very long this may develop over time.

“Good food, very reasonable prices, very friendly staff”
Reviewed March 23, 2010

I recently ate here on a trip to the coast and though it was great. The menu had a wide selection with very reasonable prices. My waitress was extremely friendly and the food came quickly after I ordered it. Is this isn't a five star restaurant but if your looking for a good meal and service look no further.
