“Beautiful and comfortable home near the beach!”
Reviewed July 18, 2017 for a stay in July 2017

Our first time to Depoe Bay. The house is beautiful and comfortable. We liked having multiple sitting areas throughout the house and the open layout. One bedroom has a nice tub to soak in and the rest have showers. It is pretty well equipped (blender, food processor, some pots/pans, strainer, baking pans, cutting board, lots of serving bowls, toaster, coffee grinder, dishwasher). We could have use kitchen tongs, and more dish rags. The wifi worked great, and there is a Roku in the living room but the basement TV was older and not equipped to take hdmi (we brought our own Roku).

There were basic supplies to start but we could have used more trash bags, we had to buy some.

The listing states 8 can stay here, but note that 4 people will be sleeping on twin beds, and the trundles do not rise to make larger beds like most day beds. This is not accommodating to couples, good to know before booking.

The upstairs bathroom doors – 2 of them enter the bathroom – didn’t lock, so if those staying upstairs are not family, it makes it awkward to share the bathroom. Also, the upstairs rooms do not have any dressers of any sort. There weren’t even any hangers. We had to grab some hangers from the main bedroom in basement. Pillows were flat.

The garage opener was tricky to figure out. It would be helpful to post instructions in garage so people don’t have to figure out the hard way. Also, the garage in back isn’t marked with house number so it can be hard to figure which is yours if you try to park near garage when you first arrive since parking is so strict.

We loved the porch! And access to the beach is quick and easy. At time we visited access was being worked on construction wise so we took the next one which was a little treacherous for those older or less balanced. There are bikes in garage and kites to use as well. Washer and dryer were handy to have as well.

Closest grocery is the Thriftaway a mile down, otherwise Safeways and IGA’s are in Newport or Lincoln City. We found Lincoln city to be a bit closer for us.
Depending on group and size of group, I’d stay here again. If you don’t mind lots of stairs this 3 level house is quite comfortable and inviting.
