The Inn Keepers, Vicki & Carl Finseth, are gracious and hospitable.
The temperpedic mattresses on the beds are absolutely wonderful. My wife and I never felt so good in the morning after a wonderul, restfull sleep.
The views and vistas from the rooms and the grounds of the Inn are incomparable.
The Restaurant Beck at the Inn has unique, indescribable, absolutely delicious entrees and appetizers--try the duck; ask for the pork with sweet corn ice cream. They are out of this world!!

Requested a quiet room and were given a suite on the top floor. Fantastic view of the cove from our room and terrace. Jacuzzi and chairs on the terrace. Big living area opening to bedroom and bath. Huge shower (for 10?). Nice to have a great restaurant (Restaurant Beck) right on the premises. Vicki (the owner) seemed a little cool when we checked in, but was helpful and gracious the next day. This is a small place right on the road, but the noise wasn't bad and the view made up for it. Breakfast was nice although we would have preferred to take it up to our room and sit on the terrace (Forbidden-seemed like a number of rules)

We stayed one night. Spectacular view, excellent dinner, special breakfast. Clearly lots of attention paid to details such as fixtures, furniture, decor, flowers in common areas.

We were looking for a ocean side vacation to wind down after a exhausting year. We decided to look on the Pacific NW. The photos on the Whale cove web site sold us on it. We were really impressed by the place when we drove in from Portland. After spending the days taking long walks or driving down the coast to visit the small towns, it was fantastic to look forward to the comfort afforded by the inn at the end of the day. Ursula, Vickie, Sylvia and all who we met at Whale cove were extremely friendly. The Breakfasts, Ocean views and easy access to other areas of the coast was great. We were blessed by sun on all the days we were there.

Room 304, gorgeous view, but not advised prior to arrival that the only night Beck is closed is Tuesday , which was the only night we stayed. Was looking forward to the dining experience we were going to enjoy on site.
I will agree that the "creepy" feeling about being a non-hosted property is spot on. I just wonder what the repsonse time would have been if we needed help in an emergency.
Road noise was very bad all night.
The mattress system they have chosen for this inn needs serious reconsideration. While I do not expect a Duxiana like we have at home, this type of memory foam is not comfortable.
Our sliding glass door did not lock, could not figure out the heat or a/c system, as room was very hot during the night. We opened the sliding door, but was so damp, that was not really an option for cooling.
Room was clean, shower would have been wonderful, but none of the side jets were working.

Poor customer service - don't expect the staff to provide the service that you may be used to from other establishments. The food at the restaurant of the Inn is mediocre; venture out to some of the restaurants in the surrounding towns.

My wife and I recently stayed here with her parents and another family friend. We rented the three bedroom owner's suite which was reasonably priced when split 3 ways. Very nice accomodations, beautiful views, and an unexpectedly good "continental" breakfast in the am that was bigger than most places I have stayed. The weather was a little cool but a jacket took care of that. Golf and spa close by. The drive from Portland takes you thru the wine country to get there so you get to stop and sample some of the fabulous local Pinot Noir.
