“Nice large room with amenities I like.”
Reviewed July 20, 2008

We spent one night here while visiting the OSU campus, which is about 2 miles away. The room with 2 queen beds was quite large, arranged a little differently than most hotel rooms (the chest of drawers extended into the middle of the room, serving as a kind of room divider) with 2 seating areas. The toilet and bath were in a separate room, with the sink and its amenities outside it. I appreciated the microwave and fridge, as we usually bring our own food along on trips.

I appreciated that they had CFL lighting in the room, and a notice about conserving energy and water. The bed was very comfortable. My chief complaint about the room was cleanliness: the room had some dust, one of the chairs held a stray jellybean and a child's hair clip, and there was a crushed cheerio on the floor, so it hadn't been vacuumed very well. The sink was slow to drain.

The lobby area was pleasant, and a computer was available to check my e-mail.

The continental breakfast was wonderful, with choices of cereals, pastries, waffles, eggs, yogurt, applesauce, juices, coffee and teas, as well as fruit.

The pool was small but clean, and welcome on a hot day.

The front desk staff was helpful and polite.

I would probably stay here again, because the price was right, overall it was a nice room, close to OSU, with a variety of restaurants nearby. But I would definitely make sure it was clean, first!

  • Liked — Proximity to OSU; room had microwave and fridge.
  • Disliked — Room had not been cleaned very well.

Requested a handicapped accessible room. The sink was on a roll under counter and the toilet was at a proper height with a good grab bar, but the shower floor was canted for drainage and somewhat slippery. The room was very spacious and well appointed. The desk staff was very helpful and the property was in a good location. Complimentary breakfast was about normal, not exciting. The restaurant, in the adjacent Salbasgeon Suites, Headwaters, was marvelous - small, great ambiance, soft music and excellent food and service.

The motel is located on 9th St. near a Motel 6 and another motel. Parking is convenient. The entry of the hotel is beautiful. Free, wireless for motel patrons. (They have pet rooms). I stayed one night and the room size, bed, bath, micro, mini-frig, et.al. made my stay very enjoyable. Medium size continental breakfast and free newspaper were also available.

Will definitely return for another stay.

As we made our way up through Oregon (we were taking a 'short' road trip), we stopped by Corvallis for a few night's rest at the Grand Manor Inn. I guess it was in the middle OSU's football tournemant (OSU is apparently located in Corvallis), b/c the friendly hotel staff were all wearing the Beaver colors, orange and black. The hotel itself is very pretty and charming--it had a cute 'bed and breakfasty' feel to it, with classic American furniture and super clean rooms. It actually did feel like we were staying at a 'b&b', except for the (luckily) affordable rates. In the morning they offer a wonderful continental breakfast that has all the options, from cereal and apple sauce to fresh fruit and waffles.
The best part about the hotel was the location: literally a 5 minute drive to Downtown, across the street from several great restaurants including a fancy one called Gables(sp?) that had excellent prime rib, and super close to several hiking trails and parks that Corvallis had to offer--considering it's not that big of a city! Overall it was a great way to take in Oregon's nature (Newport, a beach city, was only an hour away too!), and have a relaxing, cozy time at the hotel when all the sight-seeing was done.

This hotel was quite a surprise. Since it was the first stop in our 6-day Oregon exploration, following many hours of airline travel and dinner with my cousin, we were delighted to experience our first taste of the amazingly friendly people of Oregon.

Then we entered a HUGE room that was NOT a "suite", just a big hotel room. It had an odd layout - not bad, just odd. But it also had FOUR chairs for sitting and reading or watching TV (not the 1 usually found in hotel rooms.) The room was spotless, by the way. And it smelled good - not phony air freshener good, but clean room good.

There were no noise issues and the bed was excellent. The hvac system kept the room quite comfortable.

The expanded continental breakfast was fresh, tasty and a perfect start to the day. And, I think, because we were in Oregon, the coffee was good! We got there early so didn't notice any supply issues... EXCEPT, they ran out of bananas quickly. However, as we were checking out and I commented to the desk clerk that I though it was a very nice hotel, his response was that he was proud of their work but he didn't think the breakfast
had enough supplies. I thought that was a telling admission. But I thought this hotel was overall very good in almost all respects.

This was the best hotel experience my wife and I have had in a long long time.
Comfortable, Quiet!!!
We look for hotels for under $100. This one was great in all aspects.
I will look for the Meyer Crest Properties again and go out of my way to stay at their hotels.

  • Liked — Clean, Comfortable, Quiet, Everything
  • Disliked — One switch for bathroom. Heat lamp was on all the time

Not spectacular, but definitely above average in terms of motels. The building is nice-- the columns, balconies, and windows give it some charm and class sorely lacking in most chain motels. Lobby is typical, but a computer with internet right there ready for use was a nice touch that you don't find in most bargain stops. As a previous poster mentioned, the hallways are smoky. The majority of rooms are non-smoking, however, and none of the smoky smell was detectible from within the room (and I'm usually very sensitive). The room was very large, with two seating areas and desks, plus a micro-fridge. The decor was a bit dated, but everything was clean, well-maintained. There was a small heated pool out front, which was interesting given that is was early February. At one of the lowest room rates in town, this was definitely a good choice. I'd go back.
