Lots of mixed hiking trails, including areas for horses and dogs. Wanders through the McDonald forest with occassional views across valleys and hillsides. Suitable for short hikes and long hikes.

Lets face it, McDonald-Dunn forest is generally not a very flat place. Beginner mountain bikers will have a hard time climbing up some of the steep roads and hills. Peavy Arboretum is a great place for families and beginners because there is Intensive-Management / Calloway Trail ; it is where I take all newbie mountain bikers friends. It's a well maintained (graveled in many places) non-technical single-track that forms a nice loop with interesting ecosystems. A fast biker will complete it in 30 mins, but beginners should plan on an hour or more. This is a multi-use area, and the trail is closed to bikers in winter/wet season.
