Typical of all Best Westerns. Great swimming pool and Jacuzzi. Rooms were of a decent size with refridgerator and microwave. We were just a little disappointed that we couldn't see any Bay, but that was our fault by thinking that somewhere called Coos Bay would be near a beach. Doh!

$170.00 a night got us: A room with tons of carpet stains. Probably due to dogs allowed because one barked all the time right next to us. Smokers (non-smoking hotel) in the "designated" area RIGHT in front of the door leading to breakfast and right below us (2nd floor) so it's the first smell you get when you open the door. Complained to the front desk & they just laughed and said "oh, we've had a lot of complaints about that". A LOT of long hair in the shower & small (blk) ones on the bath floor. This was the worse Best Western we've ever stayed at.

We had a great room that was very roomy. We didn't need the extra hide-a-bed but it was worth the extra money because we slept better in that room than any other motel. Also, we got a call from the front desk inquiring if we were happy with our room. No one has ever called to ask us that before. We will definitely stay there again the next time we visit Coos Bay...unless we're camping.

We had the whole family, six of us, staying here. We have stayed here before and this was the best time. The room was updated. The pool is always nice and the breakfast hot and fresh. They have a nice range of breakfast: eggs, potatoes, sausage, cereal, pastries, beverages, etc. Very clean room. The smell in the room wasn't overwhelming but if it smelled fresh and clean then this hotel would have received a 5 for sure. Beds were very comfortable. 2 queens and a hideway. Great for large families.

Room Tip: bring a spray air freshener.

The hotel is situated between the lanes of US 101 going through town and our room was on an end facing the northbound lane. Check-in was very pleasant and the staff were friendly. They had a bowl of apples and beautiful bananas on the check in counter. The room was stuffy when we entered and smelled musty so I opened the windows for fresh air. I forgot to close them at night and could hear some traffic from the highway but it wasn’t bothersome. The room was well appointed (it had a sofa) and the bed comfortable. There was a refrigerator and microwave available and the bathroom was spacious. The room, including the bathroom, had recently been remodeled and the tub had attractive tile with accent tiles which you hardly ever see in a motel - I was impressed. One issue: It was extremely difficult to adjust the temperature of water for the shower as the controls were very sensitive. If you breathed on it too hard the water would get either too hot or too cold. Otherwise, I had no complaints about the room. Internet was fine - not super fast but OK. Breakfast was fine and the eggs were decent considering some I have seen lately. Coffee was weak in my opinion and they only had powdered creamer. One note - there are no elevators so, if you don’t want to haul your bags up about 8 steps (staff will assist with this thou) then ask for a room accessible via the ramp. This is basically all the upstairs rooms on the east side of the hotel. My first room I was assigned would have required someone to deal with the steps; however, they moved me to a room where we could use the ramp and handle the bags ourselves without bothering anyone. All in all this is a fine Best Western and I would not hesitate to stay here again. I found the staff friendlier than most.

Provided a comfortable bed to get a good night's rest, a yummy free breakfast (more options than we expected), a nice flat screen TV, and great staff. It was surprisingly quiet for being located right on Hwy 101.

The location of the hotel was within walking distance of the historic downtown area and the Boardwalk area along the river. I thought the location being between the two main streets of Highway 101 would be noisy but I did not hear any traffic during night, possibly because our room was in the middle of the wing, the end rooms may have traffic noise. The breakfast was the best during our two week vacation, offering hot food along with the normal breakfast pastries. It was a nice change for breakfast. I would stay at the hotel again and would recommend it to others.
