“Great views!”
Reviewed January 16, 2012

Really a nice park, lots of trails to hike in the woods, lots of park facilities for picnics, and family get-togethers. But the best, were the views of the Ocean! Absolutely Beautiful!

“We saw a Whale in August”
Reviewed August 19, 2011

Cape Arago was great. We only had a short time to hang out, but we were excited to see a whale frolicking off the shore, near the sea lions. What a great place to explore. We wished we had more time!

“One of the Highlights of our Trip”
Reviewed September 22, 2009

We "raced" down the coast the day we were supposed to visit Cape Arago, but the sun still set before we got there. We changed our plans and made time to visit the park in the morning and we were handsomely rewarded. One of the last pull-offs we saw sea lions, seals, pelicans and cormorants. It was wonderful to see all the wildlife after two days of rain. At the Southern most part of the parking lot there is a path down to the ocean. We were lucky enough to get there at low tide and there was a ranger taking people on a tour of the tide pools. We saw sea stars and a smaller gray whale feeding!

This was such a highlight of our vacation. We spent so much time at Cape Arago, we didn't have time to go to Shores Acres nor Sunset Bay, but we didn't mind a bit. If you're in the area, you should make time to visit, even during high tide.
