I have stayed in a lot of hotels in Coos Bay. But the Motel 6 has been the best value. Angel tries to give me the same room everytime. These rooms are clean and comfortable. I will continue to stay here.

Clean - no frills. It is right off Hwy 101 so it was a tad noisy in the morning. I wish they would put clocks in the rooms. The mattress was good. We had quite a laugh over the gaudy Motel 6 bedspread.

We were driving cross country and stopped in Coos Bay for the night. The lady at the front desk was very friendly. The room was spacious and surprisingly clean. The outside looked like a typical Motel 6 so I was a little nervous at first. We stayed here after reading good reviews. I was very disappointed that our non-smoking room smelled very smokey. I would never stay there again for that reason. If you don't mind smoke, then it's a nice play to stay for the money.

I've seen decent Motel 6s and dumpy ones, and this is one of the nicer ones. My room had a king bed and was clean and seemed almost new inside, although the furnishings felt extremely cheap. Like any Motel 6, as little expense as possible was incurred in providing a basic room: no facial tissues, no shampoo, two small bars of soap only, etc. But that's what you get at Motel 6.

I checked out two non-smoking rooms; one had a terrible smoky smell, so I took another one which had only a faint smell (I'm picky but I had no problem with it). You can't prevent people from smoking in a non-smoking room, but for some reason Motel 6 puts ashtrays even in the non-smoking rooms: upside down with a non-smoking sticker on the bottom. No doubt smokers appreciate having the ashtray and just turn it right-side up.

The hotel (next door to the Red Lion) is right on 101 and you can definitely hear road noise in the room, but there's a wall unit AC/heater right under the window and you can put it on "fan" (if not AC or heat) to block out most of the noise. I was on the 2nd floor and the hotel wasn't empty but must not have had anyone next to me, because I heard very little "hotel noise." I slept fine - bed was comfy enough.

This Motel 6 just got wireless internet (limited - only so many rooms have it so far) and I used it - $2.99/day. It worked fine.

Oh, and I've never seen a Motel 6 with a hot tub before, but this one did! It was clean and hot.

Hotel front desk person was very friendly and helpful.

After spending 2 nights at the Mill Casino Hotel in the brand new tower, our night at Motel 6 left much to be desired, but it is a clean and affordable place to stay. There are absolutely no extras and no ambience but the staff was friendly and accommodating. The room smelled like cleaning products and cigarettes even though it was a non smoking room. The bed was kind of hard and not cozy at all. The room just looks bare and harsh. Motel 6 would do well to add a little warmth and softness to it's rooms.

  • Liked — location and price
  • Disliked — bare harsh rooms-no warm or coziness

This is your basic Motel 6. There's nothing fancy, but it was clean and seemed safe. It's easy to access as you make the trip along the coast. The walls, however, are very thin. We could hear the television set next door quite clearly. Also, we had requested a room with internet access, and although confirmed as such, the room we were in did not have access. They made no apologies, nor did they offer to change our room - although, in their defense, they were quite full. This did not present any real problem for us, but if you need/want internet access, you might want to talk to them in person before you arrive just to be certain you get it.

We stayed here two nights. It was well maintained -- freshly painted and updated. Very bare-bones with no real amenities. The location faces the water, but the area is a bit seedy.
