Stayed here for two nights while touring the area. The room was clean and spacious, the pool was nice and the front desk was very helpful. Great view right on the River!

The hotel sits right on the banks of the Columbia River and the river views are lovely. Even if you don't have a view from your room (we didn't), there are plenty of spots in the hotel to sit and admire the water. The breakfast buffet was ample and the staff sent us to a lovely restaurant for dinner and helped us map out our visit to the attractions of the Gorge for the following day. The room was clean and comfortable. The inn is situated right at the Bridge of the Gods, which makes going over to Washington very easy.

This was a real find. It's well maintained, has a pool and jacuzzi and a fantastic view. If you choose the view side, you won't be dissapointed however you should be aware of possible train noise - one train this side of the river and one the other. Seems like the far side train was louder. This didn't bother me. The road side rooms are fine because there is a nice public view area with tables. Here you can sit and relax, take pictures or eat a meal. Cascade Locks is a very small town but there is a small market with most essential items and a couple small restaurants. The ice cream shop at the other end of town - 15 minute walk - was popular with locals and travelers. Picked up fresh cherries and salmon from the vendors in the next door parking lot (both locally sourced and cheap!). Gnats were a nuisance when walking outside at night near lights but not enough to discourage us from walking or from getting an ice cream.

The room itself - bed was comfy, nice big flatscreen TV, bathroom is a bit tight.

Overall - an excellent value.

Side note: Multnomah Falls is nearby as well as the Pacific Crest Trail. There's a visitors center across the river. The city of Hood River is about 15 miles away.

Room Tip: Pickup a bottle of wine and some food at the local market then eat on the outdoor patio.

We had a river view room. The room had a beautiful view. The room and bathroom were very clean and nice. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

The only negative was there is a busy freight train line between the hotel and the river. I did get woken up, but it was not a big deal to us as we live in the Chicago area.

Room Tip: Get the river view room.

Our rooms were on the south side of the property and we never heard the trains everyone talks about. The rooms are huge, the staff super-friendly, and the location is perfect along the Gorge. Breakfast was great, with a big selection. The toll booth at the bridge is decorated with lights and trolls (get it? trolls at the bridge) and the booth attendants are friendly and talkative too!

Room Tip: Some guests have complained about the trains, so you'll minimize train sounds on the north side...

This hotel was pretty great. The room was spacious and very clean. If you get a river front room you'll have a gorgeous view! The There was a wide variety of foods offered for breakfast. The only thing bad about this hotel is it's proximity to train tracks. The train goes right by the room, at all hours of the night. I'm normally a heavy sleeper but I did wake up when the train passed by- at about 3 in the morning. The good thing is the hotel leaves ear plugs in the room.

This year, we held our "cousins reunion" in Cascade Locks, so my out-of-town family could experience the Columbia Gorge. From the first contact, the hotel staff were enthusiastically helpful, and made the pre-arrangements to fit our needs.
When the day came, there was a surprise "WELCOME" on the readerboard. The rooms were lovely, and everyone was pleased. One family arrived without reservations, and the hotel staff found them accomodations nearby, since the Best Western was full. That was above and beyond!
The rooms and amenities are super, the trains are just neat, and the views! Cascade Locks is a great town with friendly people, and of course, the whole area is full of interesting things to do.
Couldn't have been better-THANK YOU SO MUCH!
