This is a great place but its not cheap. The average price for our several stays here has been average $180.00 over the years. Parking has been the only problem when the place is busy.
Absolutely fabulous views from all the waterfront rooms. I'm writing this from the room right now overlooking Haystack rock with the sound of surf in the background.
The front desk people are always outstanding but don't expect your room to be ready early as they are always busy.
We love it and come back here every year.

We have never stayed at the Hallmark,we always stay at Stephanie Inn.
But we had a large group(14) visting from Calif...And the Stephanie Inn was booked and dosent take kids any way....So we said lets try Hallmark, we had 4 rooms all ocean view...AND WHAT A VIEW!...The check in was easy and fast(for this time of year thats really good).
The rooms where big and clean....I really liked the staff at this hotel, they where very nice..We have already stayed there again, and plan on making this are new cannon beach hotel...Next time we will get the hot tub room.

We've stayed at the Hallmark resort in Newport many times and loved it.

This past weekend wWe tried the resort in Cannon beach and we were very pleased.

The room had a wonderful view of haystack rock and was quiet and spacious.

We got one of their web specials by subscribing to their e-newsletter off the web site.

If you are a Oregon resident, and love the coast, this is a wonderful choice for a getaway of any length.

I took an inpromptu honeymoon down the Oregon coast and we stayed two nights in the hotel. We were strapped so the front desk clerk gave us a lower rate and we had a wonderful view room with a fire place. Everything was wonderful!

I decided to surprise my fiancee with a quick weekend trip to Cannon Beach and started looking through reviews from this website. I couldn't find any bad reviews on this place and decided to take a chance and it really paid off. I booked a queen Junior Spa late Wednesday night through their website and on Friday morning called to confirm it. Everything was good to go and then I decided last minute to have Roses and Champagne added to the room when we arrived and they were happy to accomodate it for me. I don't know of many places that would have done that last minute. Check in time is at 4pm but I asked them if it would be possible to check in around 2 o'clock. They said they couldn't promise, but they would try to accomodate it. I called them shortly after 2 to see if they was going to have the room ready and they said they actually upgraded us to the NorthWest Ocean View Spa (Room #140)! When we walked into the room, we were taken away by it all. The View of the Pacific and Haystack Rock was incredible. We were able sit in the 2 person Spa and relax while looking out to the Ocean with a gas fireplace going as well. The 2 person shower was very nice also. The weekend couldn't have been any better. Their hospitality is the best out there.

If I owned a hotel I would certainly prefer to have a room filled for 1 night rather than let it sit empty for two. Seems reasonable, right?

I contacted the hotel directly after noting on their website that they have rooms of every type, including non-view rooms, open for the upcoming weekend I will be in Cannon Beach.

Unfortunately due to flight times, we can only stay in Cannon Beach 1 night. I requested 1 night at the Hallmark in spite of their yearround 2 night weekend policy. Seems reasonable since our trip is in less than two weeks out from my travel dates and again, they have many, many empty rooms that night. Somehow I doubt the property will be full.

Apparently the Hallmark feels that am empty room for two nights is better than a booked room for 1 night. I can appreciate a 2 night policy at a peak time or when rooms are scarce, but when rooms will sit unused, I will never understand "policies" like these. Its a bit like going into a restaurant an choosing to order an appetizer and drink and the staff refusing to take you order if you dont order and entree and dessert too!

We will be returning to Cannon Beach for an extended (5-6 day) stay later this summer, we will look elsewhere for accomodations due to the hotels (Craig on the phone) unwillingness to accomodate a simple request.

We are very familiar with Cannon Beach and various other properties. Wanted to try the Hallmark due to it's fabulous location in front of Haystack Rock.

In our humble opinion the place needs a deep clean and update. We didn't get a good feeling about our stay in unit #323. Mold in the tile grout, filth under and between the stove and cabinets, bent and dirty silverware, spider webs/egg sacks overhead in the wood work of the hallways. We had two kids with us and spent $260 a night for a one bedroom oceanfront suite midweek.

It's a fabulous location with a decent pool and balcony views to live by...staff was wonderful, but for the price our expectations were not met.
