My wife and I stayed for two nights at the Hallmark. The room was very large with a two person jacuzzi & fireplace. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony and watching the waves. We also enjoyed the overstuffed chairs right in front of the window to see the view when it was too cool to sit outside. We ate at Georgie's Restaurant (part of the hotel) and it was excellent. Our food was delicious and our waitress was obviously a professional rather than summer vacation help like in many places in this area. We also thought that the price was fair for the level of accomodations received. Overall, a wonderful stay.

You honestly could not ask for a better view of the rock, really impressive and essentially what you came to cannon beach to see. The architecture while maximizing lot coverage really puts a post infront of most of the view rooms view of the rock and also shades you from the sun unfortunately ( it's windy and usually cooler). The staff must be improved from previous reviewers because they really are what you would expect for the price. The room was clean feeling and had a great shower and jacuzzi tub, also worth the price. The exterior of the building needs some maintanance, and I swear every picket is rusting and leaving red marks ( another architectual mistake) giving the appearance of disrepair. While we were here for our first anniversary and sought a romantic experiance, I should have paid the extra $50 and stayed at the Stephanie ($400 hurts) for romance. I think the beach access really makes this an ideal family stay if you can afford it. Also please note that the location, while perfect for the rock, is little bit of a walk to the main tourist area of town ( for those of us who prefer lowmilage legs)

A Beautiful Inn with very good views of the sea if you get a room on the sea side of the building. You have balcony and the sound of the sea is so relaxing. To sit on the balcony having a drink or coffee was superb. The Restaurant had very good meals although a little on the large side. I would return to this Inn any time and know that I will be having a great time. Rooms very comfortable and roomy.

Called the week prior and specified that I wanted a room on the beach. Was assured that our patio would be on the beach and down a couple of stairs to the beach. Upon arrival we were put in the building behind the lobby area. 3 stories up from the lobby and then another 2 stories down to the beach. Was completely misled and the Manager (Linda) was unwilling to move us to the room/suite that was expected. Paid over $1000 for 3 nights. Would have never paid this much for a room this far from the beach. Wanted to be able to sit on the patio and be able to watch my special needs son and 14 year old play right out back on the beach. Impossible from 5 stories up and at least 500 yards from the beach. Drove 7 hours to get here and was completely misled! Those little dots in the picture are people.

We are very sorry for your disappointment and frankly are unsure how the miscommunication occurred. You called to make your reservations four days before your arrival. At that time we were completely sold out of oceanfront rooms of the style you requested and had only ocean view rooms left to offer. No intention to mislead was intended.
Though you declined, I was very pleased to see that our staff did offer you all of the ocean front alternatives available at check at no additional charge. I felt upon hearing of your disappointment our staff’s offer to significantly reduce your room rate, as an offer of good will, was a very nice gesture. When you checked out of your room a day early without our customary request of 72 hours notice, we waived any penalty (again in an effort to rebuild our relationship). We work very hard to communicate clearly and with integrity. I am sorry your time with us was not what you had hoped for.

We have stayed at the hallmark resort several times and we absolutely love it. It is not fancy but the rooms are comfortable, the reception staff are welcoming, the beach and haystack rock are amazing and the local restaurants and shops are lovely.

I am a long time airline employee and have traveled all over the world. I love the Hallmark Inn at Cannon Beach. We've been coming back to this hotel for at least 10 years. Before we found the Hallmark Inn we tried several other hotels but none could stand up to this hotel. We've always had wonderful service from the friendly and helpful staff. The view (oceanfront) is amazing. We love making our coffee early in the morning and sitting on the porch and watching the light play across the ocean. Of course, the sunsets are the best! I have recommended this hotel to many of my airline friends and they have all loved it. We especially like the rooms with the kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave and refrig...everything is so handy. Needless to say, "we love the Hallmark Inn and the town of Cannon Beach"

Our relatives had stayed at the Hallmark Resort earlier in the year and loved the room and located so much they reserved our stay in June. Upon arrival to room #223, they were taken back by the differences in the two rooms. They indicated that the 1st room was upgraded with nice countertops and updated clean bathroom, flat screen tv, etc. This room on the other hand was dated and old looking to them. Since I had not seen the other room I would say the room was poor to average. Old TV, old countertops and definitely old bathroom complete with mold in shower. We loved the fireplace and the balcony and comfortable beds. Breathtaking view. It was nice to have the kitchenette so we could prepare some meals in the room and enjoy the view. But after one use the microwave quit working. Upon checking out our relatives voiced the problems with the room compared to the room previously stayed in, but only received rude remarks. I recommend asking for an updated room.
