“A must visit in Cannon Beach”

The park is located just a few miles north of Cannon Beach and well worth the visit. The drive through the park is winding and completely encased by beautiful trees. 5$ park fee and I recommend that you start the visit at Indian Head parking lot. Take the 2.6 mile loop that climbs up (and I mean up) through the forrest to a lookout point to the ocean. Coming back down on the loop can get narrow but worth it.

Thoroughly enjoyed Ecola Park, particularly at dusk. The views of Cannon Beach and the light house were exceptional and both times we visited we were greeted by a herd of Elk and a beautiful immature eagle. Very memorable visit.

This park is a must see on the coast. The views are just outstanding, the hiking good and the forest is just awsome. Makes a great day trip....close to Cannon Beach for dinner.

Incredible and breathtaking views of the Oregon Coast and Cannon Beach. The cost is $5 for a day pass to get in if you don't have a yearly pass. It's definitely worth the price. The view from Ecola Point looks out south to Cannon Beach where you can see all of the rock formations. You're also up high enough to birdwatch if you bring binoculars. Also from Ecola Point is a nice view of the Tillamook Lighthouse. From Ecola Point you can hike a 1.5 mile trail to Indian Beach. Wear good shoes and have a hiking stick. Some areas get slippery and muddy through the forest. As you wind along the trail, it periodically opens up to views of the coast and the monoliths that are unbelievable. It's worth the effort to hike the trail.
If you can't hike the trail or are limited on time, you can drive to Indian Beach. This is a favorite place for surfers to come and families to picnic.
Ecola State Park is definitely worth a stop when you're in the Seaside/Cannon Beach area.

Moderate hike with rewarding views. Be sure to stop at the beach in low tide to discover the star fish and other sea creatures!
