The Staff was very accommodating and attentive from the moment I arrived. I had originally booked a 1st floor Queen Suite and requested a King Suite as I was checking in. Mary was not only able to switch my reservation promptly, but personally recommended the corner King Suite on the third floor and it was perfect! (Thank you, Mary.) My suite had a full kitchen, pots, pans, dishes, utensils, you name it, flat screen TV, big comfy king size bed in a separate room, and I liked the "green choice" with the dispensed soap/shampoo/conditioner in the shower ("great scents"). I enjoyed sitting near the gas fireplace and taking in the beautiful view of the ocean to the west and the coastal ridge to the southwest. This particular room had a wrap-around balcony that was perfect for taking in sunrise/sunset. The Wayside Inn is located at the end of Hemlock Street, so it is very quiet as well. The rates are reasonable also. Other hotels in the area will charge you much more just to be a few yards closer to the beach. (It's also near Mo's Restaurant which is currently under renovation and is another reason to come back (for me). My only regret is not being able to stay longer. Thank you for a wonderful (but brief) stay.

Wanted to take dogs to beach. Found this hotel listed with great reviews regarding value, location cleanliness and friendliness of staff.
Booked 2 nights end of Oct. Chad at front desk gave info on a room upgrade option and gave us keys to both rooms to look at before booking.
We chose 2 bedroom located behind office. Room was well equipped. Pots pans dishes silverware. stove oven microwave dishwasher. 3 flat screen tvs and a hide a bed in large living room. Room smelled very clean. Could hear some noise but nothing worth complaining about.
Pool and hot tub nice as well. Having ground floor unit was nice to have w dogs. Huge park across street and easy beach access. Weather not the greatest but our stay at The Wayside Inn was exactly what we needed. Will definitely stay again. Thanks again to Chad at the front desk. Enjoy your stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Wayside Inn. The staff were helpful and attentive. Our double suite was perfect. After we had checked in and were settled, the front desk stopped in to see how we were doing, and gave us a bottle of wine and chocolates! So nice. The beds were comfy, the pillows were abundant. We will definetly be staying at the Wayside Inn again.

Room Tip: It is worth it to stay on the third floor. There is no elevator, but the view makes up for it.

We stayed here recently for 2-nights. We reserved a corner King Suite on the third floor. It was very clean and had just about everything that you need. Being one street back from the ocean was fine as the deck has pretty decent views and is nice to sit out on for a couple drinks in the evening. The size of the suite was perfect, plenty of room to relax and put your suitcases. The staff is really nice and looks like it is a great place to bring your dogs for a stay. I think that for the price and location, you can't go wrong. It's a pretty quiet location, we slept really well in their very comfortable bed!

We recently visited Cannon Beach for a weekend getaway for our 25th anniversary. I called ahead to book a room at the Wayside Inn with the hope of having a relaxing, quiet stay. We found this updated older establishment to be inviting and relaxing. From check in to check out, the staff made every effort to ensure we were taken care of. Our room was charming, clean, and inviting. A bottle of sparkling cider, a box of candies, and a card wishing us a happy anniversary were we enjoyed as we relaxed in front of the fireplace, and were the beginings to a great experience. The Inn is located several hundred feet from the beach, but we had a good view of the ocean from the balcony or from behind the sliding glass doors.

This was our first trip to the Pacific coast and Wayside Inn. We plan to visit both of them again!
Thank you for making our stay special.

Pros:
Pet friendly
Decent view
Clean rooms and friendly service
Good value
100% non smoking

Cons:
Older hotel (thinner walls and amenities) that recently did a semi upgrade
Crappy wifi (inconsistent)
Small bathroom

My girlfriend and our 2 dogs come to Cannon Beach several times a year and recently stayed here. It's a decent place but nothing special. If you are looking for a good value this is for you. I prefer the Inn at Cannon Beach or the Surfsand (nicer and bigger for about same price depending upon time of year and type of room).

Great hotel, you'll get your money's worth and more. Lovely morning swim and cookies at the front desk! Besides a clean, comfortable room with a super comfy bed you can tell that the staff here really care about their guests and we met both the night time guy and the morning gal with her beautiful dog. I don't want to gush too much otherwise we won't get a room when we come to visit next time.....will definitely come to stay again.
