We stayed in a king bed studio in the Flagship building, and it was terrific in every way. Large, comfortable, wonderful unobstructed views, right on the beach, attractive and unobtrusive kitchenette, and warming gas fireplace. (The other buildings in the complex are generally further away from the beach and, for the most part, overlook parking areas or other buildings.) In our opinion, the location of this place (a block off the relatively quiet main drag and in the center of the main cluster of shops and galleries in the town) is ideal if you prefer to walk instead of drive. Other nice places located right on the beach, such as the Stephanie Inn and the Ocean Lodge, for example, are further away from the center of activity in the village. Be sure to sample the coffee(spiked, if you like, with some fine whiskeys) at the Sleepy Monk and the seafood and fish at the very casual Ecola Restaurant and Market.

My sister and I stayed at The Waves on March 9th, 2013. We arrived without a reservation and we were greeted with a very friendly staff. We had a choice of rooms available and we were able to have a "sneak peek" before deciding on what type of room to stay in. We decided to stay in an oceanfront room, with queen bed, twin bed, fireplace and kitchenette. Our room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. We were able to walk to shops and dining with ease. The hot tub was nice but small and when another couple joined us, the water seemed to cool down. We had a wonderful stay and the views were outstanding. We would definitely recommend The Waves and we can't wait to go back! Thanks to The Waves we had a great sister weekend!

Thank you for your recent stay at The Waves in our Flagship building. We love to show our rooms to everyone. We feel that the rooms themselves will win the hearts of those traveling. We work hard and take pride in providing clean comfortable rooms that have a personal feel while still taking advantage of the views of the beach and of the ocean. I am glad that we had the room choice to make that "special weekend" with your sister a "great weekend" with your sister.

We have stayed at the Waves for 25 years and never had a bad experience. Frank and Valerie have always been great to us and even found us a room when we booked the wrong date. They pride themselves on doing the best when refurbishing their rooms which they have done often and used the best products. I guess the proof is in the many times we have returned and will return. Great rooms with great views. Bob & Sue Scott

Room Tip: All rooms have a view except the Garden Court. You really can't go wrong.

My wife and I stayed in a condo managed by The Waves. The accomadations were clean, well kept and updated. The entire staff was very resposive and friendly. When we return to Cannon Beach we will contact Frank, Valerie or Paula from The Waves for accomodations. Highly recommended.

Spent 3 nights in The Colina at the Waves it is a very relaxing environment. So walkable to everything in Cannon Beach. The Colina is a craftsman style room with each having its own personal desck to sit and listen to the ocean waves and lovely views.

Room Tip: Always select the Colina the rooms are lovely with rock fireplaces and craftsman decor.

I am happy that you were pleased with our LaColina building at The Waves. The warm atmosphere of the Craftman style decor with the fireplace burning does make any night at the beach seem perfect. Thanks for being one of our guests and we hope we see you again soon.

We have stayed at the Waves many times through the years and it is always a welcome respite. For the past couple of stays, we have discovered the White Heron. It's a bit more of a walk to the "core" of Cannon Beach, but we love the scene outside the windows and the make up of these condo style units.

Thank you for being a loyal visitor to The Waves Cannon Beach and its White Heron Lodge property. You, among many have found that the north end of the beach provides the quiet atmosphere for a delightful holiday yet just far enough away from the cookie store to say its okay to have just one. Hope to see you again soon.

We stayed 3 nights in the Argonatta Room, a one bedroom ground floor unit with full kitchen.
Great location, but stay in an upper room, or the newer suites, if at all possible.
Pros:
Location is perfect. No need to drive anywhere. Great coffee shop kitty corner from the hotel.
Check in easy.
Nice to have the one bedroom suite for 3 nights for 3 people.
Cons:
The kitchen is very poorly laid out regarding counter space, and is the pass thru to the bathroom, so it got tight multiple times.
The couch is old and lumpy, uncomfortable to lounge on, read and visit.
We could hear the plumbing activities from the other upper rooms, ie: thin walls.

We stayed during a busy holiday season, and they had no other rooms to offer us, so we made do with what we had. I would like to think we would give it another chance, but am taken aback by the challenging attitude from the owner when I mentioned the uncomfortable couch.

Room Tip: Upper floor, ocean view.

In the cottage atmosphere of the building we were limited to existing space when this suite was established. This winter we have made upgrades to the kitchen and living area of this suite. On future visits, if the newer suites are unavailable, you should find this suite a little more comfortable with additional room in the kitchen for preparing your snacks or meals. The best part, even with some upgrades, you are still right next to the village and right next o the beach. Hope to see you again soon.
