I stopped into check out some suits for my young daughters (both <8) as well as a possible new board. We were met with an air of indifference and left to fend for ourselves; all the while two people held up the counter while engaging with a local and the third (owner possibly) paced around a bit looking surly, only grunting an answer to the question:
"Do you have any other youth wet suits?"
End of discussion.
Needless to say my quest for a board was stalled as I was less than stoked to proceed with a shop that didn't really appear to be interested in my business. The "No Pop-out" concept is pretty cool, but the pretentious attitude is a total turn-off. I would much rather patronize a shop that might sell pop-outs as well as customs and treats all customers with respect regardless of skill than a shop that has a bad attitude and does not invest time into those new to the sport. I would be embarrassed to take my friends who are learning to surf in here or suggest they visit here based on how they might be greeted.
