They are not open in the winter, but spring through fall, by all means eat here. Excellent food and great service.

Rustic and refined you'll love the character of the NW cuisine and a walk along the Metolius River to either whet your appetite before or work off a few calories after a fabulous meal.

“A wonderful, delightful dining experience, in an intimate cafe on the beautiful Metolius River”
Reviewed September 2, 2011

First, I must say I have dined at the Kokanee Cafe a few times in the past and I have to concur with other reviewers that sometimes the food was ordinary. They were not consistent, sometimes the food was extraordinary, other times it wasn't and because of the inconsistency, it always seemed expensive. This summer was different. We ate there 4 times in July, 3 dinners with friends and a lunch as a couple. It was fabulous every time. The food and the service were excellent and for our out of town, big city dwelling friends, a wonderful surprise in a quaint setting. They offer an extensive wine list and gourmet dining using local foods. I highly recommend it and can't wait to go back again this fall. This cafe has a more formal, indoor eating area and has a very nice screened in porch dining area.

“Creative delicious food and excellent thoughtful service”
Reviewed July 7, 2011

We traveled from Kentucky to Oregon to stay at Camp Sherman, a resort on the Metolius River, just outside of Sisters, Oregon. We spent about fourteen hours traveling to get there and five of us walked into this restaurant at closing time absolutely starving and exhausted. They were so kind to seat us and quickly bring us a cold locally brewed beer, take our order and feed us a fabulous meal. I can't tell you how good that beer tasted after all those hours on the road! My twelve year old son could barely keep his eyes open and was dissapointed he didn't see anything on the gourmet menu he would like. The server noticed this right away and offered him chicken tenders and fries and rushed the order out ahead of everything else so my son could eat right away. That was so thoughful and made a nice meal possible for everyone by taking care of the child first. The rest of us thoughly enjoyed our salads and entrees especially the trout and the duck. We had a wonderful asparagus tart appetizer and a fabulous butterscotch creme brulee for dessert. The macaroni and cheese side dish was incredible, flavored with herbs and a smoky cheese sauce. We went back on Tuesday which happened to be locals night where we got some great ribs and reduced price beers and more macaroni and cheese! Don't miss the chance to visit this cafe if you are any where near by - the food and the service are outstanding!

“Excellent Experience”
Reviewed September 7, 2010

My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at the Kokanee last evening. We have recently relocated from So Calif. to Central Oregon and have heard multiple reviews about this special place. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was comfortable and what you would expect in this beautiful setting (fishing lodge meets casual elegance), and the service was perfect. My husband had the lamb shank and I had one of the specials, fresh swordfish served in a lovely red curry sauce. The prices were very fair considering the quality of food and experience. We'll be back!
