We spent one night in the Best Western Beachfront Inn in Brookings Oregon and loved it. The Hotel is right on the sand and all Rooms have a balcony with an Ocean view. The time we spent there was very romantic, because we could watch the waves break on the beach from our room as well as smell the ocean and enjoy the rain. Yes, it rained and that is what made this a special trip. The blues associated with being near the ocean turned to greys and it was romantic. Across the street was a nice Seafood restaurant with great Clam Chowder and soft bread. Loved it and so will you.
I tell it like it is and if I'm not satisfied, I'll say so, but this Hotel for us was exactly what we wanted.

Traveled the end of September with sister and 80 year old mother. We'd driven about 9 hours that day so were very tired. Front desk employees very friendly and efficient. Rooms were clean and plenty of room for us. View of ocean was wonderful and could hear the waves all night with the window open, which makes for great sleeping. We used the laundry room which was very clean and everything in working order. The restaurant was just across a little road and the food was very good. Had a great price for breakfast the next morning and service was fast and good. Area was very quite and peaceful.

Just woke up from an awesome sleep here. The oceanfront rooms practically have the ocean lapping at your feet. We slept with the window cracked and were rocked by the sound of the waves all night. For this alone the price is right. If you can't afford to live on the beach THIS is the way to go! The rooms are clean and nicely appointed. The staff efficient and good at what they do. Restaurants are nearby and even within walking distance although the pickings are limited. My wife has terrible allergies to animals and feared we'd be put in a room that had animals before us but turns out the hotel accommodates those with animals in one section and those that prefer not to be exposed in another. Very considerate and sometimes a matter of life or death with people with allergies.

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel while on vacation. The hotel is located in the harbor area of Brookings. We just happened to be there on a Friday and Saturday, and the harbor area was very busy with a festival, its shops, restaurants, and boats. Once in our room, we were not bothered by all the traffic and activity in the harbor area.

Our room with two queen beds was very clean and spacious. As mentioned in a previous review, the balconies are tiny. They are as wide as a sideways facing, plastic lawn chair. You could not turn the chair around to face the ocean. You could see the ocean but sideways. We viewed the ocean mostly from inside our room.

This hotel was a great place for families and for dogs. The beach seemed like a good one to play on and for walks. We enjoyed walking on the beach in the evenings and watching the ocean, the brown pelicans, and the sunset.

If you are concerned about privacy, I would recommend that you request a second or third floor room. Our room was located on the first floor of the middle of the three buildings. Early the next morning, a six or seven-year-old boy spent about 40 minutes talking and/or yelling up to his friend who was staying in the room above us. He was standing only about eight feet away from our room the whole time. With him being so close, we felt like we couldn't open the curtains to look at the ocean or the sliding door to let in the breeze. What good is a oceanfront room, if you can't see the ocean? We also had several other concerns about this boy, his friend and his dog, but I won't go into all the details here. Anyway, after "the last straw...", I went to the office and expressed my concerns. They were very responsive, and we moved to a second floor room as soon as it was cleaned (in about 90 minutes). We enjoyed the privacy of the second floor, and our view of the ocean was better.

There is a gift shop across the street which sales delicious, creamy fudge. In two days, we made two trips for fudge! For lunch, we ate at the The Hungry Clam which is located in the harbor area. The fish 'n chips and the clam chowder were delicious. We wished that we had eaten dinner there too. Instead we bought a pizza in the harbor area (I forget the name of the place) but it tasted like they put cinnamon or some strange spice in their pizza sauce. Not good at all.

This hotel is in a good location for exploring the Harris Beach State Park and the Samuel Boardman State Scenic Corridor's tide pools and scenery which are north of Brookings.

The Beachfront does exactly what it says on the packet; It's right on the beach within an easy walk of Brookings Harbour. The rooms are clean, spacious and well-appointed but the main feature is that fantastic outlook and the sound of the sea. Unusually, no breakfast is provided but there is a good diner just across the road. A great place for a relaxing break.
