“Rockin' location”
Reviewed October 8, 2012

It was so nice being able to leave the door open and listen to the waves on the beach, instead of listening to a room conditioner's fan. This place is a little difficult to find, but worth the effort. The room was fairly large and equipped adequately, and pretty much all of them have a great view of the (fairly small) beach. The bed was quite comfortable.

On the other hand, the noise from the flexing of the floor upstairs was quite annoying. The buildings are framed with what is quite a long unsupported span of the floors from the front (door) side of the room to the back (balcony) side. Too bad they didn't upsize the floor joists a size.

Long story short - try to get a room on the top floor. That way, in case you aren't interested in enjoying the Thunderfoot family's 2AM close order marching drill, you'll be able to pass. Did I mention 2AM?

Other than that one thing, this place gets top marks from me. I find the occasional clanging of a bell on a buoy oddly soothing, even makes up for the neighbors upstairs.

Room Tip: Go upstairs. Deal with the stairs, just go upstairs.

Loved this place--all the rooms have an ocean view and ours was perfect (on the 2nd floor). I slept with the door open to the balcony and fell asleep to the sound of the ocean. The room was very clean. No air conditioning but they provide you with a fan if you need it, however, leaving the balcony door open cooled off the room rather quickly. We ate cross the street for dinner at Sebastians and then had the breakfast at the hotel in the morning which was pretty good. It was a little awkward to have the nice little lady who worked the breakfast room ask people "what is your room number" since I've never been asked that before and other people in the room seemed to be taken a little aback as well (the poor woman seemed just as uncomfortable asking). Not a big deal, but a little strange but maybe they have locals or something coming in for a free breakfast. I was also excited to see a nice clean little laundry room with coin operated washers and dryers. We'd been traveling for a few days and were going to stop in town to find a laundromat so this was a nice amenity for us. Would definitely stay again and for more than just 1 day.

Room Tip: No elevator so call ahead and request a room the first floor if you don't like to climb the stai...

This property is truly on the beach, with great ocean views and surf to lull you to sleep. We stayed here two nights and will return soon. This is a newer upscale property and VERY well appointed. Extremely clean, with (cultured) marble tops on most every horizontal surface. Gorgeous breakfast room with stainless flatware and ceramic plates and cups for the full breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. We chose a SPA room; very relaxing to look over the beach in the bubbles. Our room was less than 200 feet from water's edge, we enjoyed walking the beach. Also a short walk to the boat basin and several restaurants.

I stayed here for two nights, thinking that being on the beach it would be a cut above a travel motel, but I didn't find it so. The room was a bit shabby, and there was quite a bit of noise generated from the parking lot and the stairwell. The balcony was a good size; the beach was small. A foghorn was audible, but it didn't bother me. The hot breakfast was fine. It was convenient for the main road through town, and hence to the redwoods which was the reason for my visit. I'd stayed the previous night at the Best Western Plus Bayshore Inn which is delightful, so maybe my expectations were too high.

We went to Brookings to get away from construction noise and upheaval. We couldn't have picked a better place! The staff of the Beachfront Inn was friendly, well-informed and did everything to make our stay a success. Check-in went fast and the room we were assigned was perfect with a view of the ocean and sunset. It was clean and had a fridge and microwave. Just steps out of our door was the beach with miles to walk with our dog. At night we slept with the sound of the waves. We couldn't have picked a better place.

Room Tip: All rooms are ocean facing. We had a room at the end of the complex, which may have been even more p...

We stayed again for 3 days in Sept. We stayed in the pet friendly suite.
The staff is excellent. They make you feel welcome as soon as your arrive.
The rooms are immaculate & kept updated with fine linens. All the comforts of home, kitchenette, flat screen, hot tub, Wi Fi, free buffett breakfast, etc. Walk out your door to the beach.

We had a great dinner and view at the Nautical Inn 5 min. south of the Inn.

The day we left they were most gracious and allowed a late checkout. I do not always use the dresser drawers but this time I did. I did not realize I forgot to check one of the drawers upon checkout. Later that week we received a package from the hotel free of charge with some very important pieces of clothing I had overlooked.

5 stars *****
Thanks to all of the staff.

We stayed here one night on our way to Bodega Bay, CA. The staff at the front desk were very cheerful and quite helpful. There is an elevator right from the parking lot, which was very convenient. Our first set of key cards for the room wouldn't work--one I apparently demagnetized, and the other had not been set. My husband took them back for new ones and two staff members followed him black to be sure they would work. Once again, they were great. The room was attractive and clean, and the ocean view was terrific. There is no restaurant at the hotel, but there is one directly across the street--Sebastian's. we had breakfast there, and I have reviewed it. We found a little place though Trip Advisor named Art Alley Grille, and it was terrific. I have also reviewed that. Our room was on the second floor, and I think I prefer that because the seagulls are a little too friendly on the lower level. It was a great over night stay, and I believe it would be a good place for a family vacation.

Room Tip: If you like seagulls as guests, first floor rooms would be okay. If not, choose a higher level if yo...
