We stayed here one night on our way to Bodega Bay, CA. The staff at the front desk were very cheerful and quite helpful. There is an elevator right from the parking lot, which was very convenient. Our first set of key cards for the room wouldn't work--one I apparently demagnetized, and the other had not been set. My husband took them back for new ones and two staff members followed him black to be sure they would work. Once again, they were great. The room was attractive and clean, and the ocean view was terrific. There is no restaurant at the hotel, but there is one directly across the street--Sebastian's. we had breakfast there, and I have reviewed it. We found a little place though Trip Advisor named Art Alley Grille, and it was terrific. I have also reviewed that. Our room was on the second floor, and I think I prefer that because the seagulls are a little too friendly on the lower level. It was a great over night stay, and I believe it would be a good place for a family vacation.

Room Tip: If you like seagulls as guests, first floor rooms would be okay. If not, choose a higher level if yo...

My husband and I were driving the California/Oregon coast and had not initially made any hotel reservations, We were just going to "wing it." Our initial plans were to stop in Northern California, but we could not find an available room. So, we traveled on to Brookings. We saw the sign from Highway 101 to a Best Western. We were very pleased with the room we found. It sat directly on the ocean. It had a king-size bed, large sitting, room and balcony. Our only regret was that we were only there for one night. This would definitely be a hotel that we could spend several days. Our room was located on the second level and was very quiet. The front desk people were very helpful in making reservations for us for the next two nights up the coast of Oregon. They were also helpful in making a restaurant reservation in our next stopover.

What a fantastic room at a great cost - $160 per night for a beach front room! The room was quiet clean and spacious with a desk, couch, flat screen TV, free wifi, etc. The balcony had two chairs on it so we had a delightful time decompressing from our long drive and wating people stroll along the beach, the waves, etc. In the evening people had bonfires burning on the beach - near the water (not near the hotel) so very pretty. This was a quiet hotel even though there was quite a few people. The room was quiet and we didn't have any noise. The bathroom was small but adequate and the tub was perfect for a nice long soak!

Staff was informative and pleasant. I only wished we had more time to stay here.

All the rooms have views of the ocean. The room we chose was one king bed and was clean and comfortably furnished with a small sofa. There was a small deck with two chairs-perfect for reading in the sun. The room had a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. The breakfast was ok, not the best I've had at a Best Western, but adequate. There is an outdoor pool which was being used even on a fairly cool but sunny day. The staff was very friendly and kind. No complaints!

Room Tip: We like the top floors since there is no noise from above.

I approached with caution, as each Best Western is “individually owned and operated,” so you never know what you’re going to get, but with the Beachfront Inn, I was more than pleasantly surprised. Let me start by saying that they are not stretching it when they advertise that all of their rooms have ocean views. They do. We stayed there on two different occasions, and if you don’t mind walking up and down the stairs (no elevator to the 2nd floor) the top floor has slightly better views because of the elevation, but the ground floor is awesome too. The rooms are large and include small decks, but you won’t want to spend your time there – you’ll want to trot down to the glorious crystalline sandy beach. The hotel is nestled amongst the gentle dunes, and for some Oregonian reason, they let you build fire pits with the driftwood. It’s romantic, in a nostalgic kind of way, to have some wood smoke wafting up and down the beach, but when you have too many folks with their own little fires, it becomes a nuisance; stay up-wind if you're asthmatic.
At least on this stretch of beach, cars are prohibited; not so at some other popular Oregon locations.

We had dinner from Sebastian's Seafood Grill down the street and it was delicious. Some reviewers have commented that it's too expensive, but based upon the large portions I disagree; It made for a tasty picnic the following day.

No breakfast at the hotel, just coffee. Don't expect five star service from the staff or for the linens to be 800 count - this franchise isn't competing with the Four Seaons. However, the units came with microwaves, refrigeratorettes, double sinks in the bathroom, heated pool for the kiddies, and… wait for it… it’s pet friendly! Thankfully, there are more-than-decent hotels out there willing to take a chance on pet-friendly rooms so that the whole family can vacation together.

Room Tip: All rooms have ocean views, though rooms on the 2nd floor have a better vantage point. Keep in mind...

Only spent one night at Brookings Best Western and was overall very impressed. Sits right on the beach so we had a great view from our room. Even in late August/early September the weather was chilly, and the water was even colder, so be prepared! Giant room with an abundance of room for a family. Our family of five had a room with two queen beds and a roll-away cot and still had plenty of room to move around and play. We had a mini fridge and microwave which was convenient. The room was very clean and I was pleasantly surprised that it did not smell musty, as some beach/pool hotels do. Overall, great place for the money. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Brookings.

Before staying here, all we were really looking for was a base to explore the Redwoods. Fortunately for us, most hotels in Crescent City were booked, so we ended up staying here... Best thing that happened to us on our trip!

All the rooms have large balconies with unobstructed, absolutely gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean. We booked two Premium Rooms - which are larger, and are located in a newer building with elevator access. Both were bright, spacious, well-appointed, and impeccably clean. Bathrooms were of a similar standard.

Breakfast was fairly comprehensive with outstanding service - the (delicious) scrambled eggs ran out a mere 15 minutes before closing time, yet they were promptly and fully restocked. Front desk service was similarly helpful, friendly, and professional.

Best of all, this hotel is only a 40 minute drive to the Redwoods while allowing you to experience beach-side tranquility. Superb stay!

Thank-you for your review. Glad you enjoyed your stay. We are not only close to the redwoods as you point out but are also only 25 miles south from Gold Beach, Oregon, which has the world famous jet boats trips on the Rogue River. We are also located at the Port of Brookings which has of one of the safest harbors on the Oregon Coast, a great place to take a charter fishing trip from. We are the prefect hub to explore the southern Oregon coast and the northern Cailfornia coast from..

Hope to see you again.
