“A wonderful experience!”
Reviewed September 16, 2010

We stayed at the South Coast Inn B & B for one night in August. We had the Maybeck Room - with a wonderful private patio. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. The inn is beautiful; so many lovely things, inside and out. A very relaxing and satisfying experience. We would stay here again!

My husband and I stayed two nights at the bed & breakfast while honeymooning in Oregon. We were very pleased with the comfortable, clean rooms and the warm hospitality of the hosts. They were a joy to visit with, but also gave us space to relax and be by ourselves if we wanted. Breakfasts were so delicious and beautiful that they bordered on gourmet. The room we had (The Maybeck) was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. When we are back in the area, we will definitely stay here again!

My husband and I stayed at the South Coast Inn for one night during our Oregon coast vacation. The inn and its grounds are beautifully maintained and the Maybeck Suite -- one of 4 rooms in the main house -- was incredibly comfortable and well-appointed. In fact, we had the best night's sleep of our entire vacation there! In addition to the cozy king bed, armchairs, and blissful pillows, the Maybeck also featured a private patio with fountain. It was truly a peaceful and relaxing haven.

Our innkeepers -- Mike, Cheryl, and Grace -- were incredibly warm and accommodating, welcoming us to explore the entire house and grounds and to make ourselves at home in the kitchen (and help ourselves to goodies); and preparing a delicious breakfast the next morning of homemade fruit sorbet and orange French toast.

Mike was also incredibly helpful with restaurant recommendations (don't miss the Art Alley Grill, first on his list), and with directions to local sights.

We hope to stay at the South Coast Inn again in the near future -- and highly recommend it to anyone traveling through Brookings.

We very much enjoyed our 3-night stay at the South Coast Inn! Michael, Cheryl, and Grace were such wonderful hosts, very personable, gracious, and full of information. The house is very lovely, designed by a San Francisco architect at the turn of the century. The gardens are also lovely and there are wonderful porches and sitting areas inside and outside. Our room, the Lil Angel room, was cozy, not much extra room with the queen sized bed but we were very comfortable and there were plenty of places to hang out around the house. Michael's breakfasts were wonderful and the other guests were delightful. All this on top of the spectacular southern Oregon coast made this a very special weekend!

Prior to our trip, we had read many good things about this B&B on trip advisor as well as guidebooks about the Oregon Coast. We were not disappointed.

To top off enjoying " the best room in the house" (the Maybeck Room), we had the special pleasure of enjoying gracious and enthusiastic hosts Michael, Cheryl, and Grace Clines.

We travel all over the state for business, staying at many types of places. Where available, we prefer to stay at the smaller, locally owned establishments. Mike and Cheryl (and Mike's mother!) were all very friendly and helpful, without being intrusive. The house and gardens are lovely, with lots of spaces to hang out in the garden, on the porch, or in the common areas. We were greeted with smiles and the offer of a glass of wine, shown where all the amenities where (DVDs, snacks if you get hungry at night), given excellent recommendations for dinner (Art Alley Grille was wonderful, and a five minute walk away!), and generally treated as though we were very special guests. While not on the beach, the inn is just a few blocks away (you do have to cross the highway to get there, but there is a signal light). If possible, I will definitely stay there whenever I am down on the southern Oregon Coast!

From the first contact making the reservation to the time of our departure, Michael, Cheryl, and Grace (the inkeepers) were extremely friendly and went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed. They gave great suggestions for restaurants and beaches for shell hunting. We are a family of four, and we stayed in a second-story unit located next to the main house. The accomodations were more than we had expected. It was very clean and nicely furnished, and even had a view of the ocean! The B&B has a very nice location where you are able to walk to shops and restaurants. The property was beautiful and relaxing and the main house is very charming. We have nothing but great things to say about our stay!
