This small restaurant served up delicious, quality food. The staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions. We had homemade bread served before our meal that was amazing.

We sensed that this restaurant was a winner from the greeting at the front door. The service was outstanding and the food was appealing in every way . . . from presentation to taste. Here's what really impressed us: My wife and I really enjoy each other and we were engaged in a romantic conversation. The waitperson kept an eye on the table; however, she did not bother us with the obligatory interruption of, "How are you doing". This is a skill unknown to most in the restaurant trade. She was there when we needed her, but she was not in the way. We love this place.

The best meal of our long weekend trip from Northern California by a LONG shot. Superb food. Excellent presentation. And a wonderful staff. The owners put the "F" in family restaurant. Felt right at home. We and everyone that we saw come in was treated with respect and addressed as "friend" or "family". We had never witnessed anything like that before. We really didn't want to leave but hey at some point ya gotta move on. Highly Recommended. Love this place and the love they put into their business.

There is a tiny a brew pub downstairs, which is a good way to warm up before dinner. Finally food with some attention to taste and presentation. A local had complained it had too much garlic, but I don't think there is such a thing. We were offered a good selection of wines and some beer on tap. We ordered the chicken marsala, which came with noodles, a nice mushroom sauce and long baby broccoli. Very nice presentation. You got the usual fancy bread to dip in oil an vinegar while you waited. Good wait help and not long serving time. Other menu offerings are more pricey, but I might just go back and try something else. This corner of Brookings seems to be where things are "happening". If you are looking for a good dinner, I'd say try the Black Trumpet.

We were so happy to find this place - the staff is friendly and personable; the food was very good, the wine selection suited us to a T - we ate spaghetti w/meatballs (great meatballs), the sauce was marinara which was good and the spaghetti was cooked al dente. We started with onion soup that was spectacular, and I really liked the homemade bread. We were too full for dessert, but would definitely eat there again if we're in the area. One of the better meals we had while on the Oregon coast
