“Captivating”
Reviewed October 2, 2011

This area pretty well sums up what I thought the coast of Oregon would look like. It was a bit of a walk down the path to the beach and of course, what goes down must come up. There is a bench halfway for those that need to take a breather. It was a warm and sunny day and the tide was out. A perfect picture with the rock formations and the waves rolling in. Well worth the climb. There may be an easier way down but we parked at the south end parking lot and most people seemed to be coming down that way. We could have sat for hours and just watched the waves roll in.

“This was a surprise gem”
Reviewed September 21, 2011

We wanted to stay someplace where we could camp on the way to Gold Beach for the jet boat tours, so we stopped here. The scenery is great, and there are multiple trails with access to the beach. There are tide-pools and monoliths to use for great photos. Blackberries were all around us as well. The bathrooms were clean and convenient. Oh, and the place had a nice playground for the kids as well. We enjoyed our stay there.

“Bad experience at Harris st. Beach”
Reviewed September 20, 2011

We have ejoyed going to Oregon beaches for the last three years with our dog. When we went To Harris beach took our dog down to the surf let her run a bit. and put her back on her leash. There were about 30 dogs on the beach 1/2 on 1/2 off leashes all behaving. When we got to the top of the cliff the campground owner started yelling at me for letting my dog run around. When my wife got to the top a park ranger in a golf cart started in on her. He said there are no beaches in Oregon where your dog can be off a leash. So I took him a copy of Brookings Chamber of Comerce magizine which has two couples walking on the beach with no leashes. Went back to visitor center to tell what had happen and told them they would not get penny from us. Also asked a policeman if there was a BofA bank in town and he he acted like I wasting his time and told me he had not idea rudely.

“Has it all”
Reviewed August 21, 2011

We stayed at this park and primarily came to explore Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor just north of here but glad we took the time to see Harris Beach. What a great place! Take your pick of places to enjoy all at this one beach: soft, clean sand (at sunset!), tidal pools, cool off-shore "monoliths", resting sea lions, waves crashing in, quiet areas for romantic beach picnics ... wish we lived closer to come back again and again.
