“Arrive early”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 31, 2014

Not that this spot fills up like Old Faithful in the summer, but the best time to view this spectacular cascade is early in the morning. That way you'll beat the buses and the bigger crowds that congregate here after 9am. As a photographer, this is also the best way to ensure you won't be worried about finding room for your tripod or blocking someone else's view so you can shoot from the prime positions. Don't just walk up to the first viewing area. The 1/4-mile hike up to the bridge is easy and the view from up close of the higher portion of the falls is wonderful. There's a nice gift shop and a few snack stands on site as well.

“A great stop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2014

Our flight from Portland to Spokane was cancelled so we rented a car and drove by the falls and through the Gorge which was impressive

A drive from Portland to Spokane is only 6 hours and you can stop at the Country Mercantile in Pasco for the needed comfort stop, ice cream and some treats of fresh fruit. The drive is easy.

We actually visited the falls when we took a tour from the American Empress and are glad that we did as the view from the bottom is impressive. The hike to the bridge that is just a quarter mile is easy and up hill.

“Always a great stop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2014 via mobile

Took the time to visit the falls. The best view is from the bottom of the falls but the hike to the top is so satisfying. It's a moderate hike and I recommend it.

Enjoy this stop and visit.

“Not to be missed!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2014

I went last year while the National Parks were shut-down, but the falls were still open and were INCREDIBLE. We went in October, so the crowds weren't too bad and the waterfall is stunning. The small hill to the bridge across the falls is very easy to manage and allows for great pictures.

I ended up hiking to the top of the falls (rather steep with a lot of switch-backs) and it was ABSOLUTELY worth it. Even if you have to stop along the way (it's not an easy hike), I highly recommend it! The views form the top are incredible, there is a little out-cropping that allows you to see almost directly down the falls.

I definitely want to go back and take some photos at sunrise, as this is a place you could visit many times and not get tired of.

“Worth the climb”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 27, 2014

One way or another, stop here! You can view the beautiful falls from the ground, from the gorgeous bridge an easy walk up, or from the op. My wife and I hiked to the top and really enjoyed it, but it is a challenge for some older, younger, or physically challenged folks. We saw quite a few turn back before they got half way there. The view of the falls is much better from the bottom, although the top offers yet another vista on the Gorge.
