We stayed at the Riverhouse Resort while our daughter's softball team was playing a tournament in Bend. It was adaquate, but not as nice as we expected for the price.

We were in a "kitchen suite" with a pull-down murphy bed in the living room, and two queen beds in the separate bedroom. The murphy bed had stains all over the sides when we pulled it down, so our kids both refused to sleep in it.

The shower was definitely below average. The water pressure was horrible and the shower head was super low. Also, our shower was not cleaned very well by the crew for our second day. There was still hair in the drain even.

TV's were old and small.

On the positive side...

We did like the idea of having one sink in the shower room and one outside. That was convenient.

The living area was big and nice to have when we had teammates and their families over occasionally.

Plenty of closet space.

We didn't use the kitchen stuff much, but having it there when we needed it was good. (coffee maker, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, dishes)

Place was probably built in the 70's and it is still there today. Paid extra for river view room and got it. Narrow patio leads off to dirt area in front of small ditch that isn't very attractive. Staff is very friendly and helpful but I would expected better accommodations for the price paid. Outdoor pool was closed for maintenance leaving us to the indoor dirty pool. Room was clean and possibly updated within last 15 years. Hallway had a bad smell. Good wi fi, though, as I am writing this review from the hotel room (using their wi fi)

We booked a 3 night stay here. I called them 3 times to make sure we had a jacuzzi, kitchen room on ground level.
We arrived had to drag all of our stuff up two stairways and down the hall ( no luggage carts/no elevator). It was so dark in the room that I couldn't even read the phone or motel information book directly under the desk lamp. The light bulbs in the room must have 40 watt bulbs in all the lamps. The room was so 80's. eveything needed to be updated.
The bed is a murphy bed(fold down out of the wall) and there were no lamps that were close enough to the bed to read by.
It was supposed to have a well stocked kitchen. There were no bowls/salad bowl, wine glasses. We had to call down and have them deliver those items, plus a floor lamp so we could see.
The patio was very narrow, no small table only 4 dirty plastic chairs, although it did have a riverview, but that part of the building had no sun on the patio all day. (rm418)
The bathroom had a 2(?) person jacuzzi tub, but you had to fill it almost all the way up to cover the jets, then you had to get in and out of the tub to turn on the jets. The floor was slippery and dangerous. In the morning , I started the dishwasher and it started leaking water all over the kitchen floor. We called to request a different room on the other side of the river but were told there were none that had the kitchen, fireplace, etc. The continental breakfast was the worst I have ever seen!! and I'm not kidding. They had tiny bagels that were so dry that we coudlnt' eat them. The pictures on the website were very deceiving, showed a beautiful hot tub, etc. The room was $155 a night, and definitely wasn't worth it. I canceled the rest of our stay and went over to Sunriver..

Stayed here for one night on a recent vacation. We arrived in Bend and, based on Frommers, we stopped here and requested 3 rooms. Each room had a river view and a fireplace in addition to fridge and microwave. Very nice rooms and comfortable beds. I slept to the sound of the river, with the sliding patio door open (and screen door closed). Nice. The reading light over the bed was ok, but the rest of the room was fairly dark. Bathroom area had 2 sinks, one inside the bathroom proper, and one outside in the dressing area. Continental breakfast was fairly good, as far as free breakfasts go. Good central location in Bend, with easy access to restaurants and malls around Bend.

This was our splurge hotel of our trip, and it was amazing. When we looked at the map, we assumed this was the middle of nowhere and that the hotels would be roadside. However we were struck dumb when we entered this growing city with many high end and normal stores and a very lovely "escaping it all vibe". The hotel is located on a main street but the rooms are tucked away from all the noise. This hotel staff were very welcoming and willing to answer all of our questions and check was simple. The room we stayed in was quite large, with a nice bathroom, fridge, a new television, two queens, and best of all....a river view. The view was really quite stunning and with some searching we found a small path that led directly to the river.

The only downside to the room was that there was only lights in the bathroom/sink area and then three lamps around the room, so overall it was quite dim.

The hotel has a pool side cafe, both an indoor and outdoor pool and spa, a hotel restaurant, a golf course, and an exercise area. All of which were well kept and tidy.

This is a great hotel for anyone; from romantic couples to families to older couples looking to get away.

When I booked my reservations there were no rooms with a view of the river left so I had to settle for one without the view. This is the second time I've stayed here and the first time we had a beautiful view of the river. It was very peaceful and pretty.

When we first got there they gave us a room with a queen bed instead of the king we had reserved. It was no big deal, but I feel sorry for whoever got stuck with that room. It was SO small and dark - with a view of the parking lot.

I think without the view to distract me I paid more attention to the actual room. I was pretty disappointed. It was a little worn and dated. I'm not that picky about rooms usually, but I probably wouldn't stay there again.

This hotel was the perfect "weekend getaway"...delicious restaurant on site, nice little covered bridge connects you to the hotel from your room, wood-burning fireplace in the room, private patio overlooking the river. The hotel is "older" but has been kept up very well and doesn't look old. Very clean. Can't say enough nice things!
