On the corner of one of the main streets in town, serving all kinds of candies, ice cream and popcorn.
Almost an institution in Bend.

We stopped in and sampled a wide variety of chocolates. Many were too strong-tasting for us to want more, but being able to try single pieces in this way was perfect. We liked the atmosphere as well. A bit pricey for regular consumption, but as a special treat, it was great.

Everyone needs to get an ice cream cone at Goody's. Super good ice cream. Their chocolates are wonderful and made locally. Peach ice cream! Summer time. Goody's is it.

Yes, Goody's soda fountain in downtown Bend is like stepping back a hundred years. The mind swims! However, the not as well known attraction is their factory tour.

The factory is located out away from town at 1111 SE Division, Bend.

The tours are only available on Saturday and Sunday and cost $2 for a guide and samples. Really, if you are jonesing for sugar, you will have enough at the end of the 10 min tour and your $2!

Basically, once you leave the lobby/giftshop, you go down 3 hallways that circle (square?) around one big room with glass windows where the candy is made. First stop is where they make the caramel corn. While the guide tells you about it, you get a little Dixie cup of it to eat. Next window.. maybe truffles? Don't get too excited, you get a part of a truffle. And at the end, sample #6 is ice cream.

You really want water or milk when you're done, but they only sell soda pop and candy!!!

It's quick, it's silly, but it's still fun and memorable. I recommend it!
