“Excellent service, beautiful setting”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

We chose to spend our anniversary dinner at Greg's Grill, mostly because of the outdoor seating along the river. We made reservations with Open Table, and requested outside seating, knowing that reserving outside seating at the Old Mill is basically impossible--it's always first come, first served. Well, we got the perfect table anyway. What we didn't expect was truly excellent service (everyone wished us a happy anniversary), and delicious food. I had the shrimp grill: very very tasty. My husband had pork loin--enough slices for leftovers. We shared a peach cobbler for dessert, and was told afterwards that it was on the house for our anniversary. All that with a lovely, affordable, bottle of pinot gris, and the sunset over the river (or over the brewery, more accurately;-)

We live in Bend, so Greg's Grill has always just been "there", but now we count it as a great place for a special dinner.

“Another Restaurant in an Old restored trendy area.”
Reviewed September 8, 2013

Nice looking place over looking the river in the Old Mill District. If it wasn't for the views and we were hungry I would go some place else.
the greeting staff (3) were nice enough. our waiter must have been new since he could not answer even the simplist of questions about the menu.
we ordered roasted beet salads, one with salmon and one with tuna, very small portions and the beets were NOT roasted, probably out of a can. at $19 a salad this was SORRY.
not very pleased.

“Don't bother”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

This review is not on the food as we never got to eat there. We made a reservation on Open Table for a party of 7 at 7 this past weekend. We were in the area early and decided to see if they could seat us approximately 1 hour early. We were told they were booked until 9 that night. Informed the hostess again that we had a reservation through Open Table at 7 p.m. The hostess informed us that they would be calling us to tell us that they can't honor the reservation. Several of us were standing around and heard her very clearly say this. We even asked why they weren't honoring their Open Table reservations. Her response was system is down. Went to Italian place next door and was pleasantly surprised. At 7:30 p.m. Greg's Grill called to ask why we weren't there for our reservation. Person was rather rude when we explained what the hostess had told us that our reservation was cancelled. We were told "well you didn't talk to me". All we could do was laugh. If they have that terrible of service even before being seated I surely don't want to eat there.

“Dine by the river”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

Located in the Old Mill District, along the Dechutes River. Extremely friendly staff that actually talk to you and engage in conversation, what a concept!. Our server was outstanding, she was attentive and just didn't bring our food and clear the table. Food was exceptional as well as the view. Sit outside and watch the sunset!
