Don't let the gravel road deter you...the Falls is worth it! Have your camera ready and your hiking shoes on for an easy walk to the top of the falls.

Seeing waterfalls is one of the primary reasons I enjoy hiking all over the country. I was amazed when I first saw Tumalo as it is absolutely stunning. My first time visiting Tumalo Falls trail we only hiked up to the actual Tumalo Falls but had to turn around due to bad weather moving in quickly.

The next Summer I was visiting and went beyond Tumalo Falls. The trail follows Tumalo Creek and is easy and well-marked. There are several other waterfalls and cascades along the trail and many perfect spots to grab a snack or sit and read for a while.

The trail is 4 miles one-way and is open to bikes so be aware (all were very polite and announced they were approaching from behind). There is a fee of $5 and you pay at the self-serve kiosk. The trailhead is about 25-30 minutes from downtown Bend.

This is a beautiful location. You can take a quick walk to see the falls or do a longer hike to see an even better view.

A short hike to the top of the falls can be seen from the parking lot but there is a great hike beyond the falls.

It's a waterfall. Worth a look. The surrounding area isn't much. It has views of a forest completely wiped out by wildfire years ago. Young trees are growing, but still quite small. There is good sledding hills in the area. Be careful, though. Many injuries in years' past.
