You can see the falls from the parking area, and an even better view from a short walk (1/4 mile up very steep hill). Worth the drive. Last 2 miles are on gravel road.

Just a short drive out of Bend to the west will bring you to Tumalo Falls. Just park (five dollars fee) and walk up one hill and see the beautiful falls. Walk a mile or so farther and reach a second falls.
A nice hike for a family with somewhat older kids or even for active seniors.

Had a great just under 5 mile hike past the falls. You basically start at the highest one and follow the stream up to several other smaller falls. The trails are in good shape and it was not too crowded on a Friday. So great to get out of Phoenix AZ in the summertime!

The concierge at Sunriver was from Bend, OR. She recommended that we visit Tumalo Falls. She printed a guide for hiking. We followed it to the 3rd waterfall and enjoyed the beauty every step of the way. The first view is practically at the parking lot. That waterfall is ~97 feet high. The next one is Double Falls, with two 20-foot falls. The third one was ~ 50 feet high. The hike was easy for me (late 50s). The only issue was parking on a Saturday. There were lots of cars, but not very many people hiked even as far as we did (less than 2 miles). It was a lovely getaway for my wife and me.

Tumalo Falls is a pretty waterfall that's not too far from Bend. I followed directions someone had posted that were very helpful. It is marked by a sign off the road. The falls could be seen from the parking lot. We did the 1/4 mile hike up by the falls. It was very pretty and serene. It's not a difficult hike. We saw several people with their dogs out walking, but it wasn't crowded on a weekday. Make sure to bring $5 to pay the entrance fee.
