My husband and I spent the last week in Bend while he was there for work and had planned on trying out some local pubs and brews. At the recommendation of a local who he knew through work, we went to Brother Jon's for dinner one night. It was a Wednesday night and the place was packed! We had about a 20 minute wait, but it was worth it! The place is little or cozy as I prefer to call it. It is jam packed with a laid back atmosphere, great food and wonderful staff. It is family friendly as several people were dining with children. The staff was prepared with crayons and coloring sheets to help keep small children occupied. It is definitely on the small side which makes for a semi noisy setting. If you're looking for a lot of space and quiet conversation, this wouldn't be the place. Even though it was a packed house and there were people waiting, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. They were more than willing to offer samples and suggestions on their rotating beer selection and took the time to provide that extra effort for great service! The food servings are huge, but it was all so good! My husband ordered the Ranch Burger and I decided on the Peppersteak Sandwich, after much deliberation over the made-to-order house mac and cheese. We saw several people with the mac and cheese and it looked HUGE! The price is very reasonable for the quality, quantity and area. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Bend and look forward to trying out one of the other many offerings on the menu. I will be making this a must-do for any friends headed to that area as well!
