“Fun Tour, Tasty Brews”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

We arrived right at 2:00 for the tour and realized we missed the pre-tasting, but were told we could do it after the tour which actually was better for us and had no time restraints. My husband and I have been on many brew tours and this one ranks at the top. What an impressive brewery! The tour (45 minutes) was informative, fast paced and not bogged down with minutia. Our guide was very friendly, funny and clearly passionate about Deschutes and its product. After the tour we stayed for our (tasty) samples and browsed the gift shop. Given we can’t get this beer on the east coast, it was a coveted visit and we savoured each sip.

“Love Deschutes Beer! A fine brewery.”
Reviewed June 7, 2013

We visited Deschutes as part of a brewery-tour-bus operation sponsored by my company. Deschutes was one of the stops and I was very excited about this. I buy their Mirror Pond Ale and Black Butte Porter all the time back home in Colorado. It is worth the price!

It's a beautiful brewery, a very clean place. It's pretty large, but not quite as big as the Mothership, New Belgium's brewery/tasting room in Ft. Collins. But it runs along the same line of company ethos: happy employees = excellent beer = steady growth and jobs for the local economy. I applaud what these larger micro-brews are doing for the greater good of micro brews as a whole. They do not sacrifice on quality of ingredients. And there's no denying that some of the best hops in the world come from the Cascades! Man they've got some delicious beer.

Our tour operator was pretty good, she didn't dive into as much of the brewery process itself, probably due to the large size of our party.

The bartenders in the tasting room were very professional and served us up quickly so we could get on our way to the next brewery.

If you love beer, I highly recommend a visit to Deschutes' tasting room!

“Great tour and great beer”
Reviewed May 29, 2013

The tour starts with a tasting of four beers of your choice and some time to wander around the shop. (Since tours start on the hour, arrive early enough to enjoy your beer) Then, a knowledgeable guide leads the tour group through the brewery for an up-close look at craft beer making. The tour gets you right into the areas where beer is really crafted and bottled and the description of the beer making process is fascinating. If you come during the week you will see everything in action; unfortunately, we came on a Sunday so nothing was moving, but it was still a great tour.

“Whether apres ski or just for fun, this laid back, low key fun brewery tour is a highlight to any trip to Bend”
Reviewed April 6, 2013 via mobile

It's afternoon and a bit stormy and you might be looking for something to do in Bend on short notice? One fun place to head to is the Deshutes Brewery for a sample of their latest beers and a tour of the brewery. The staff that pour the samples and conduct the tours have a knack for making the tour interesting and fun with a true Bend style vibe. You can stock up and grab a Hop Henge or Red Chair or a souvenir and see how beer is crafted. A nice way to spend an hour or so in Bend.
