I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. The hotel is located very close to all the action in Bend, simply walk down the path to the Old Mill District. Rooms were clean, spacious and met all my needs, fridge, microwave, coffee, flatscreen, desk, lots of outlets, etc... it had it all. The best part was the service, the people working were always open to doing anything they needed to make you happy. I did also enjoy a cookie or two, which were available at the front desk to sooth my sweet tooth. I hope I get a chnace to return, Bend is a great place to visit !!!

That exclamation was made by my husband when we entered the lobby. While we have always found the Hilton Garden Inns pleasant, clean, agreeable and all those other adjectives, this one surpasses all others. The public spaces were great, the breakfast service wonderful, the staff nice, the indoor pool larger than most hotel indoor pools, etc. Our room was unbelievable. We asked for a river-view room and got a room with a balcony, a separate living area, and a loft with a hot tub and a great view of the Cascade mountains. Granted, I am Diamond level and have seem some nice rooms, but to even know that this type of room is available at a HIlton Garden Inn is a definite plus. Also, for skiers, there are ski lockers downstairs and other amenities.

We recently stayed at this property and found the experience gratifying. The hotel is somewhat off the beaten path, providing peace and quiet from the freeway traffic noise. The check-in experience was good, although the computer had allocated two rooms to me which was quickly rectified.
We checked into our room which was nicely appointed and very modern. I actually had a problem with the TV and contacted the front desk. The front desk sent up a maintenance person who arrived within minutes. In the meantime I jiggled a couple of wires and found a loose connection and fixed the issue.
We went downstair for dinner. Everytime we went by someone who worked in the hotel, they smiled and asked us how we were and told us to enjoy our stay. That doesn't happen very often.
The restaurant staff smiled and engaged with us in a very friendly manner.
Overall experience was very good and would recommend this hotel to travellers.

If you look at the negative reviews you might notice they're all pretty old. I'm assuming the place was renovated; everything looked pretty new. The lobby is extremely attractive as was my room. Very roomy and well appointed. Just up the hill (walking distance) from the restaurant and shopping area. They have a lobby bar which serves beer and wine. I would definitely choose this place again. (Front desk maybe a little understaffed though?)

We stayed 4 nights in a very spacious suite, room 202, with a private balcony about 8x8 that easily contained a table and four chairs. The furnishings and carpeting all appear new, and were in a sophisticated nuetral palette that was very attractive. The kitchen has only a mini fridge and microwave, but does have a sink and counter and cupboards. The separate reasonably spacious bedroom had it's own flat screen tv and temperature control. The bedding was first rate and the mattress very comfortable. Our room was on the end with a big window in the bedroom that did open, but cooking smells from the restaurant downstairs meant we left the window closed. We did hear freight trains in the distance at night, so light sleepers might be annoyed, but I suspect all hotels in Bend may hear the trains, as the tracks seem to circle outside of the town. The view of the river is rather distant, and not what I imagined at all. Our view was almost 100% obscured by the smokestacks in the repurposed all mill below the hill, that marks the upscale and very convenient Old Mill District shops and restaurants. It was disappointing initially, but interesting in it's own way. The restaurant is average at best, especially for vegans and vegetarians. Canned fruit for breakfast buffet, no non-diary milk choices, and oatmeal served with fruit cut up days and days ago, that had turned sour. (it was replaced with apologies with truly fresh strawberries, but with canned blueberries!) The restaurant is open to the lobby, so the smell of bacon permeates the main floor as you exit elevator. Swimmers do leave puddles of water at elevator doors. Still location above Old Mill is very convenient and the rooms are first rate. We had a group rate of $149 for Leadman race, as this was race hotel, but nothing was done for the athletes, not even coffee available before our shuttles that left at 4:30 a.m. Directions from front desk staff were as good as from a concierge, and they were exceedingly amenable to special requests, like U.P.S. Shipping.

Room Tip: Ask for upper floor on the opposite end of the hotel from the restaurant for better views, possibly...

We went for a weekend stay as a jumping off point to visit Crater Lake. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The pool and hot tub are well maintained and comfortable. Access to the shops and restaurants along Powerhouse Drive is within an easy walk. At night, there happened to be bands playing nearby the river, which can make the rooms noisy. The hotel was full while we were there and we heard absolutely no noise from the adjacent rooms. The only noise was from outside the hotel. We had a 3rd floor room overlooking the river. Very nice view!

Room Tip: Try for a 3rd floor room overlooking the river.

Very nice Hilton with the American Grill inside. The Grill has a bar with a small menu and reasonable prices. The Hilton is located within walking distance to the Old Mill District with several shops and restuarants. The pool and hot tub are open 24 hours. Very nice, clean, comfortable, quiet, and safe location. Get a Deshutes River view if you can. Paved walking/biking paths available right out of the hotel down to the river. Paths run along both sides of the river. Lots of paddle boarders and kayaks floating down with the ducks and geese. I would definitly stay here again.

Room Tip: Try and get a Deshutes River view.
