I was very impressed w/the Ameritel Inn. Beautiful lobby/breakfast area. You couldn't be closer to shopping, fine dining, and the movie theater. Less than 5 minutes to downtown Bend, w/easy access off the Hwy. The beds were comfortable, rooms spacious. The entry way to the room is very wide which reduces the size of the bathroom just a bit but don't worry, there was plenty of room for one. The breakfast was great each day from fresh waffles, sausage, eggs, bacon, bagels, cereal, fresh fruit, juice, coffee and tea. If you are not looking for specialty lodging, Ameritel Inn should be your top pick! An extra bonus, the hot tub/indoor pool is open 24-hrs which felt great after a long day hiking!

Great place to stay, great staff, and a far better than average breakfast and place to eat it. From the room size to the pool and workout room, this hotel has above the norm comfort and space. The staff goes out of their way to accomodate requests. Beautiful views from the rooms that overlook the river, many nearby restuarant an bar choices, activities on the adjacent river and a large movie theater. Nearby access to endless outdoor activites, golf, mountain biking, and volcanoe hiking to mname a few. Bend is a place you will enjoy spending time in, this hotel is the place to stay.

Room Tip: Say in a room overlooking the Deschutes river below.

Only stayed one night but it was a very clean, efficient and had everything we needed. It was nice not to have to drive anywhere since the shopping area was right behind the hotel which we could walk to. Very friendly staff too. Had a nice breakfast but we couldn't eat it since we don't eat wheat or dairy.

Room Tip: Only stayed one night but would stay again.

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times and have had my family stay there when they are in town. The location of this property makes it perfect for families, couples and singles looking for things to do in wonderful Bend Oregon. It is walking distance to movie theaters, restaurants and other attractions. The staff is always friendly. The fitness facility is one of the better you will find in a hotel, and the pool is really nice. Great value!

Good large room, helpful staff, hotel is clean and comfortable. Breakfast is uninspiring. Wish they would use real eggs for the scrambled eggs and lose the sausage things. Otherwise okay and the breakfast staff is really pleasant.

Room Tip: Ask for a view if that's important to you.

Hotel has a great location. The hotels sits on a bluff above the Old Mill District (upscale outdoor shopping mall and numerous dining options) and has a short walking path from hotel to "The Old Mill." Rooms are large and comfortable. If you will rely on WiFi make sure your room is not on the end of the hotel. Ours was and we had very low reception and it would fade in and out (WiFi for 5 min, no WiFi for 10 min).

Room Tip: Make sure you don't have a room on the end of the hotel if you want reliable WiFi.

We absolutely loved this hotel. When we arrived for our reservation we asked for a cascade view room, which was an "upgrade". You know how that goes, it's usually $100, but it was only $10, so we accepted. So the nice woman upgraded us to a suite for the $10 (above what we asked for). We had a lovely view of the river and cascades, a fireplace, large room, etc. The complimentary breakfast was the best that we had in 12 different hotels - not crowded, real scrambled eggs and bacon, etc.

Also, the location is great in the Mill District - we had a nice walk, window shopped and had great peruvian food. All in all, one of the best hotels on our 2 week road trip.

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a view room of the cascades - worth it!
