The Bend Red Lion is the most reliable and comfortable motel I stay in throughout the year. Its clean, quiet, and close to downtown.Their dedication to superior service is probably the most stand-out quality of the staff at this hotel. They once even helped me locate a refrigerator for a convention I was doing in town! If you're looking for clean, cozy and. "at home comfort" in a hotel, then look no further than the Bend Red Lion Hotel!

Room Tip: Try to get the rooms closest to the lobby; they are premiums and fill-up fast!

I have stayed at approximately 30 different motels/hotels in Bend over the last 14 years. Red Lion is by far the best value for the price. It is very centrally located for all of the shopping and nightlife. The beds are very comfortable. The premium rooms are worth the extra dollars.

Room Tip: choose a premium room, the south wing or the west wing are best

The room was clean and everything worked. Tv could be newer but it did not matter much. We did not spend much time inside. Breakfast was good and the hotel was clean.

Room Tip: We used Orbitz and it worked well

This hotel had a great location, close to downtown and shopping areas. Comfortable beds. 3 complaints: awful shower head, limited hot water in the AM, and we were unhappy with the breakfast offered. We went down to eat with an hour left, and none of the warm food (eggs, bacon) had been refilled. We didn't have time to wait, so we opted for the black bear diner next door.

I was a little skeptical when we pulled in, as the neighborhood looks a bit sketchy. Two check cashing places and an adult bookstore within 1/2 a block, sidewalks crumbling, older neighborhood. But once settled in, it was quite decent. Cozy fireplace in the lobby with newspapers, coffee, tea and cookies. Entirely adequate, if standard, continental breakfast. Rooms are smallish, shower and no tub. I liked that the heater was not a forced air, which can be so annoying when you're trying to sleep.

There is a microwave and small fridge. The TV was small and circa 1995, but it worked and reception was clear.

It's an older hotel. I saw where someone wrote that it was "recently constructed". I don't think so. Looks like at least 30 years old to me, probably more. But it is clean, the staff is friendly and professional. Parking is tight. There is a diner next door, which will provide "room service" (i.e., they deliver). Bend has a lot of great dining options so we didn't try the diner.

It seemed a little overpriced to me. Granted, our stay was over the Thanksgiving weekend, but still, compared to other 3-star hotels, it was significantly more expensive, and after staying there, I would estimate the room rate to be about 15-20% too high. As a 3-star hotel, I rate it 4 out of 5.

Just needed a place to overnight on our way from Canada to California. Stopping over after 10+hours of driving in a city we'd never been in before, Red Lion fit the bill perfectly. Nothing exciting but clean, quiet, and conveniently right off the highway. After driving 10+ hours we were happy to walk across the parking lot to get a hot meal even though it was a family style chain restaurant. Comp breakfast was better than we expected and for two women travellers far from home, we felt totally safe. Desk service was warm and welcoming.

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor room.
