Our 8 & 13-year-olds loved this excursion. Our fantastic guide, Jeff, had a vast knowledge of the geology, which he was able to present in a relaxed and fun way. This is no novice tour company -- Wanderlust does it right!

We live in Bend and visit the cave's once or twice a year. Bring one good flashlight per person, or rent lanterns at the entrance. It is very cool so bring a light jacket.

Cool as in temperature - it was cool and it was summer and it was great to have some respite from the heat. This is a very interesting cave - kept wondering when the hot lava was going to come rushing down!

The flashlights we brought are just enough to see your way. You can't walk and look around because there is not enough light. The lanterns make for good lighting when you take photos. It's worth the time if you like caving. Not so much if you're claustrophobic.

This was really a trip to do. We brought our own lantern and flashlight and went early so we could avoid the crowds. We dressed warmly as it does get quite cold. Cold enough to see your breath (if your light's on!)

It is a long way when you are doing this in the dark. You need to go slowly because of the rocky floor in many areas. We made it all the way to the end but there were some who didn't go all the way. I say if you come all the way here, go to the end and get the million dollar shot of yourself in the final narrows of the cave.
