Their logo says it all--Where Mezze meets the Mesa. This is an curious blend of western ranch meats and Middle East. We recently went back after some time away and, again, were surprised at how good it is. We've always just ordered a mess of mezze to share around the table and would recommend you do the same. Find something you really like? Order more. Some of the ME stand bys are a bit pedestrian (hummus and baba lack the creaminess and punch of garlic I prefer) but you won't find it any better in Bend. We've tried most of the small plates and have not been disappointed with any. My only frustration is the pita is not fresh and thus not real good. It is a simple bread to make and you always find it fresh in Portland ME eateries. It would be nice if Joolz could do the same. If you want to do this on a weekend or during tourist season be sure to get a rez as the place fills up and the wait can be long.
