This place provides more than quality food. The large open room with windows on two sides; wine, beer and beverages all along one wall; kitchen center-stage in the front; people dining/talking everywhere; it is an uplifting social experience. You will eat well here, and leave thinking: why can't more restaurants be like this. Casual dining with class.

We were just passing through Bend on the way home from vacation, and phoned local friends hoping to meet for dinner. They suggested this place, and we're glad! We chose from an enormous selection of beverages, and ate delicious salads and pizzas in a very bright, busy dining room. Order up front from a highly varied menu of healthy fresh-made items, and they will bring yummy food to your table! We plan to go back for sure next time we're in Bend!

We have had lunch here several times now and enjoyed it each time. It's very casual. You have to order at the cash register and then they bring your order to you. For lunch, the choices are sandwiches, salads and pizza. The sandwiches and salads have been very good. The ice tea is great. We haven't tried the pizza yet, but it is hand-made and cooked in a wood-fired pizza oven and it looks great. People we have talked to who have had the pizza says it is great. The wait staff have all been very friendly and helpful. They all help each other out and do a good job of taking care of folks. It has obviously gotten very popular; the last couple of times we have gone the line has been all the way from the cash register to the door, so it has taken a while to be able to order. A nice thing about Jackson's corner is that they are open all day. Our other favorite lunch place, McKay Cottage, closes at 2PM and so that doesn't work for us a lot of days. The only negative thing I have to say is that one time when we were there, one of the kitchen helpers who was making salads and sandwiches would wipe her hair away from her face and then immediately go back to preparing the food without washing her hands. Yuck!

We had dinner here on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, which is a very crowded time in Bend. Based on other reviews about crowds and long waits, we chose to go to dinner around 4:40pm to beat the rush. Had we been even 5 minutes later, we would have encountered a long line. But we waited just 5 minutes in line (you order at the counter, then sit), and the cashier was very patient with us even though 6-8 people came up in line behind us. My two kids shared a pizza, which was quite large (took half back to the hotel) and thought it was yummy although a bit greasy. I had a beet salad and gluten-free toast. The GF bread was phenomenal... almost seemed to have pumpkin undertones. One of the best I've tasted ever! My husband had the pasta special with salmon and thought it was good. I ordered coffee from the cafe bar after-the-fact, and the barista had to make a fresh pot for me, but brought it to my table despite how busy she was. There were free refills. The food was high quality and organic, fresh, natural, and homemade. We would eat here often if we lived in Bend. It's not cheap but you get what you pay for... organic and quality.
