Thanks for your wonderful review. There is a lot to see and do at the Museum. Check the daily schedule on the website to help plan your day around the different wildlife encounters and other talks.
Not only is this museum very well done inside and out, there are numerous hands on, films and talks going on during the day. Check out the schedule and you will find yourself spending a lot longer here than you intended. One of the permanent exhibits revolves around the earlier settlers to the area and their reasons for being there. Learn about the plants and animals of the area and the ones that are in danger of beaching extinct. A great place to visit for the entire family!
Thank you for your great comments and review. The living history characters really add a different dimension to what life was like in the High Desert over 100 years ago.
Everything is so well done and there are always many things to see. Check the schedule of presentations so you can see as many as possible. They are always fun and interesting.
Thank you for your great review. The tip on checking the daily schedule is a good one as there are many programs and talks throughout the day that you won't want to miss.
Friends from Bend gave us the tour of this charming museum. It is a MUST when you visit. Great history of the high dessert area. Lovely place
Thank you and your Bend friends for visiting the Museum.
Have been to museum multiple times, and have always enjoyed it. Watched the raptor birds presentation, and walked around inside and outside.
Thanks for your great review and for taking the time to write a review.
I first visited this museum 26 years ago and what I remembered was the wonderful porcupine discussion. To my delighted surprise they are still giving the presentation. Very educational and we just loved it. We saw the raptor birds presentation as well and my husband was fascinated by the perigren falcon. We really enjoyed this museum and it is extremely family friendly. A great experience.
Thank you for your review and the history! Porcupines are important species in the High Desert. They are great to have on display because they can be easily overlooked in the wild. The peregrine falcon in the Raptors of the Desert Sky flight program can really put on a show zipping around and through the audience!
